Abstract
Die Nutzung neuer Informations- und Telekommunikationstechnologien (ITK) ist für die Wettbewerbsfähigkeit der deutschen Wirtschaft entscheidend. ITK-Anwendungen eröffnen eine Vielzahl von Möglichkeiten für neue Produkte und Dienstleistungen und einen effizienteren Einsatz von Arbeit, Kapital und natürlichen Ressourcen. Eine innovative heimische ITK-Branche, die neue Technologien entsprechend den Anforderungen der Nutzerbranchen hervorbringt, ist dabei ein unersetzlicher Innovationspartner. Eine leistungsfähige ITK-Infrastruktur ist die Voraussetzung für die Nutzung dieser Potenziale. Die vom ZEW im Auftrag des BITKOM für den 5. IT-Gipfel der Bundesregierung erarbeitete Studie beruht auf aktuellen Umfragen des Zentrums für Europäische Wirtschaftsforschung (ZEW): Eine repräsentative Befragung von ZEW und infas im September 2010 von 1.000 innovativen Unternehmen in ITK-Nutzerbranchen. Eine Befragung von ZEW und Creditreform im September 2010 von 800 Dienstleistungsunternehmen der Informationswirtschaft. Ergebnisse der Deutschen Innovationserhebung 2010, die von ZEW und Fraunhofer ISI im Frühjahr und Sommer 2010 durchgeführt wurde und in der u. a. rund 750 Unternehmen der ITK-Branche befragt wurden. Die Studie zeigt u.a., dass die ITK-Branche zu den innovativsten Branchen in Deutschland gehört. 7 Prozent des Umsatzes werden in Innovationsprojekte reinvestiert. Auch international ist Deutschland ein führender Technologiestandort für ITK, 12 Prozent aller ITK-Patente stammen aus Deutschland. Als Querschnittstechnologie bieten ITK zudem zahlreiche Impulse für Innovationen in anderen Branchen: Rund 40 Prozent der innovativen Unternehmen haben in diesem Jahr ITK-basierte Innovationen eingeführt. Die Studie verdeutlicht außerdem die Chancen auf, die neue Innovationstrends wie Cloud Computing, leistungsfähigere Internetanschlüsse und intelligente Netze für die Entwicklung neuer Geschäftsmodelle und Dienste und für die Lösung gesellschaftlicher Zukunftsaufgaben bieten.
