BVL-Logistikindikator – Hintergründe, Entwicklungen und Ergebnisse

Abstract
Der BVL-Logistikindikator geht auf eine Initiative der Bundesvereinigung Logistik e.V. (BVL) zurück. Der Indikator soll einen Einblick in die Entwicklungen der Logistikbranche bieten, die zu einem der wichtigsten Bereiche der deutschen Wirtschaft zählt. Deutschland ist nicht nur »Exportweltmeister«, sondern erreichte auf der von der Weltbank erstellten Liste zur Leistungsfähigkeit der Logistik den ersten Platz. Bereits seit dem vierten Quartal 2006 veröffentlicht die BVL jedes Quartal neue Ergebnisse für die Logistikwirtschaft. Seit dem dritten Quartal 2017 wird der Indikator vom ifo Institut erstellt. Die monatliche Periodizität und die Vergleichbarkeit der Ergebnisse mit anderen Wirtschaftsbereichen spricht für die Erstellung des Indikators durch das ifo Institut. Da der Großteil der deutschen Branchen von den ifo Konjunkturumfragen abgedeckt wird, bieten sich hier vielfältige Möglichkeiten zur Einordnung der Ergebnisse in die Entwicklungen in anderen Branchen. Ein graphischer Vergleich und eine Korrelationsanalyse der bisherigen BVL-Zeitreihen mit den nun auf monatlicher Basis neu erstellten zeigen, dass die Ergebnisse der ifo Konjunkturumfragen ein sehr ähnliches Bild der Logistikwirtschaft zeichnen wie die bisherigen BVL-Zeitreihen. Der Logistikindikator bietet Entscheidern im Wirtschaftsbereich Logistik, aber auch in Wissenschaft und Politik einen geeigneten Seismographen, um die Geschäftslage, das Geschäftsklima und die Erwartungen aufzunehmen und Schlüsse für ein erfolgreiches Handeln zu ziehen.
