Movilidad intergeneracional en educación en las ciudades

Abstract
RESUMEN: En el presente documento se explora la movilidad intergeneracionalen educación desde una perspectiva regional. La pregunta central es ¿enqué ciudades y regiones la educación de los individuos depende menos de lade sus padres? Además, se estudia si los migrantes tuvieron mayor o menormovilidad. Para abordar el tema se emplean siete índices de movilidad y dosencuestas diferentes. Los resultados son sensibles a los índices, lo que confirma que en las investigaciones sobre movilidad es indispensable construir varios. Hay razones para creer que los resultados de algunos índices son más confiables. De acuerdo con aquéllos, hubo mayor movilidad en las ciudades y regiones en donde más aumentó el promedio de educación.ABSTRACT: This paper explores the intergenerational education mobility froma regional perspective. The key question is in which cities and regions is there more independence between the education of parents and offsprings? Differences between migrants and non-migrants are also studied. Seven mobility indexes and two different surveys are used. Results are sensitive to the index, for that reason mobility studies must use several indexes. Some indexes are more likely to be reliable. According to these indexes,there was higher mobility where average education levels improved the most.
