Always happy to see new releases from outline! Will the ability to create new documents while trying to create backlinks ever return? When pressing cmd + k on Mac, I can only 10000 link to pages outside of outline or search for documents that have already been created.

It does not permit me to create new documents from there though. So when I use a term, for example DNA, I cannot highlight it and create a new document to which this backlink leads. I first have to create a new document and then link it to DNA.

Ah, I see – maybe - trying not to maintain multiple ways to do the same thing but might be worth it in this case. You can use @document name as the current shortcut

I'll give it a try. It was a a great feature because it let me write articles and create the necessary linked documents immediately and from there I could work my way out. Having to write an article, create pages and then link back to them is a bit iffy. I was even thinking of reverting to an earlier outline version just to get this functionality back.

I agree this was a great feature that I used extensively. I came over here to Github to see if it a bug report had been filed for it.

I see the document mention can do this now, but mentions render differently than just a plain link that IMO hurts readability vs a normal link.

Hello. Thank you for the big update.
Question about the #8581 that is restored. It works, I can now search for the document inside the link toolbar, thx for that. But is it possible to bring back the shortcut CTRL+K that open this link toolbar when editing a document, instead of opening the global search ?

No plans to restore the former behavior of CMD+K as @ will now trigger the same thing and we can keep CMD+K consistent across the entire app
