Scottish racecar drivers

[edit]

Just to let you know, I'm going to revert many of your additions to this category. Many of the drivers you included are already in one of two sub-categories, either Category:Scottish Formula One drivers or Category:Scottish rally drivers; see Wikipedia:Category#Guidelines (point 3) for further clarification. Problems with upload of File:Tommysoundtrackalbum.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tommysoundtrackalbum.jpg. You don't seem to have said where the image came from, who created it, or provided a license tag. We require this information to verify that the image is legally usable on Wikipedia, and because most image licenses require giving credit to the image's creator.

To add this information, select the appropriate license tag from this list, click on this link, then click the "Edit" tab at the top of the page and add the information to the image's description. If you can't find a suitable license tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. If you need help, post your question on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 21:05, 22 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Top Gear (series 17), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page The Persuaders (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Hello, thanks for all your contributions to Wiki. I notice that you have several changes to Siffert's page without adding sources and that the page now does not tie in with the individual race report pages. E.g. 1962 Solitude Grand Prix has Siffert in a Lotus-BRM V8, but does not give the car model No. Ditto "Jenks" report here. (Though I don't think you changed the engine make, but the model No.) Please ensure that information is consistent across related pages when making changes; also that the information is correct and citing your sources. Non-championship F1 races

[edit]

Hi Halmyre. Thanks for all your great work creating articles for the non-championship F1 races. One minor thing I noticed: the lead of 1954 Circuit de Cadours identifies the race as the 5th Circuit of Cadours, but Circuit de Cadours#Results identifies the 1954 race as the 6th Circuit de Cadours. I'm not sure which one is correct. Regards. DH85868993 (talk) 13:10, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1954 was definitely the 6th, event poster here and comparison with other years, poor proof-reading on my part! Thanks for the compliments. Halmyre (talk) 13:28, 20 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Grand Prix du/de Comminges

[edit]

Hi Halmyre. Do you think the correct name is "Grand Prix du Comminges" or "Grand Prix de Comminges"? Most of the sources I found say "du" (although I did find a few which said "de"). Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 21:30, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

"du" seems to be preferred according to reproductions of old posters although I have seen "de" and "des". Halmyre (talk) 06:59, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

1952 Aston Martin Owners Club Grand Prix/Formula 2 Race

[edit]

Hi Halmyre. Which do you think is the correct name for this race: "1952 Aston Martin Owners Club Grand Prix" or "1952 Aston Martin Owners Club Formula 2 Race"? Most of the sources I found (which weren't Wikipedia mirrors) say "1952 Aston Martin Owners Club Formula 2 Race". Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 03:18, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

F2 race seems to be correct, whoever added it to the list called it a Grand Prix. Halmyre (talk) 07:17, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
OK. I'll change all the occurrences of "Aston Martin Owners Club Grand Prix" to "Aston Martin Owners Club Formula 2 Race", so we have consistency. Thanks. DH85868993 (talk) 08:59, 9 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Coventry Climax Grand Prix results, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. -MPGuy2824 (talk) 07:24, 15 July 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Thank you for adding the Tasman Series results. Can you provide a source for that? Rindt's article is a Featured one, which means that it needs to live up to the highest standard, including having sources for all statements. Zwerg Nase (talk) 10:59, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OK, done. There are other web sources but they all refer back to sergent.com.au. Halmyre (talk) 11:45, 11 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Richmond Trophy Race moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Richmond Trophy Race, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 12:05, 20 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The “band”

[edit]

Thanks for letting me know that bands in the UK are referred to in the plural.

You might want to know that later on in the wiki article, band is referred to in the singular. Search for "band is" or "band was."

Thanks for teaching me a little bit about UK English. Be well. Wsmyth (talk) 13:30, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I did notice the other reference but that was a quote from a reviewer so I just left it. Halmyre (talk) 17:28, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
