Calculating ROI for Software Product Lines

Published: 01 May 2004 Publication History

Abstract

Product line engineering has become an approach to improve the ROI of a whole set of products. Because the approach emphasizes economic optimizations, the need to apply ROI calculations is particularly important. This article describes a model for a product line's ROI, illustrated in a prototypical industrial situation.
