Can video research escape the technology? some reflections on the problems and possibilities of A. V. research

Abstract

There is no doubt that the use of video technology offers a major opportunity for research in a number of domains within the Social Sciences. At EuroPARC, we are developing initiatives in several distinct but clearly interrelated areas. The major heads under which these initiatives can be gathered are:(a) Video as a research technique(b) Video as a technology(c) Audio-video infrastructure
