Over the years
Chiesi Farmaceutici S.p.A. (pronounced key-ay-zee) is founded by Giacomo Chiesi, a chemist who dreamt of bringing global research capabilities to Parma, Italy.

Giacomo Chiesi hands management of the company to his two sons, Alberto and Paolo. They continue the expansion of the company by opening its first office in Brazil.
The third Chiesi generation joins the company and opens new lines of operations, including a number of new acquisitions and biopharmaceutical capabilities.
The Chiesi Group launches Chiesi Global Rare Diseases, a business unit founded and led by Giacomo Chiesi, grandson of the company founder, that has a dedicated focus on the unique needs of individuals impacted by rare diseases.
