Halting Honchkrow (Japanese: VS ドンカラス VS Honchkrow), titled VS Honchkrow in the Chuang Yi translation, is the 406th chapter of the Pokémon Adventures manga, and the 69th chapter of the Diamond & Pearl arc.
It is subtitled Spacey and Flakey (Japanese: のんきとせっかち Relaxed and Hasty) in the VIZ Media translation and Carefreeness and Impatience in the Chuang Yi translation.
Plot
Along Route 214, Pearl has managed to defeat every Team Galactic Grunt on the way to Veilstone City with his team of six Pokémon. Spying on the city from a nearby cave with binoculars, he wonders if there's a way to divert their attention from the city gate so he can sneak in.
Suddenly, he receives a tug on his scarf, which are revealed to be the two Unown he had befriended previously in Knowledge of the Unown I. The two lead him to a portion of the cave wall that has collapsed, which he realizes must connect to the Solaceon Ruins.
Dozens more Unown appear, offering to help Pearl break into Veilstone City. They flood from the cave, catching the Grunts off guard, giving Pearl the chance to charge into the city atop Tauler. Quickly heading to the Galactic Headquarters, he plans to save the Willpower Pokémon they had captured previously.
As the Unown descend on the Headquarters, Pearl thinks back on when Diamond got attacked in the Lost and Found office despite it being locked from the outside, and concludes there must be a way to get into the Headquarters from there.
As Pearl and his team investigate the room, Zeller finds and presses a button which causes a shelf to slide away, revealing a hidden staircase. He gives his thanks to the two Unown, the duo reminding him of himself and Diamond. Remembering that Diamond is also in the building somewhere, he rushes down the hidden staircase.
He gives Kit and Tru's Poké Balls to Chatler, in hopes he will be able to return them to Diamond.
Elsewhere, Cyrus and the Advanced level Grunt marvel at the first Red Chain that has been created. Saturn, Jupiter, and Mars call in to Cyrus to report that the Grunts stationed at the entrance to Veilstone City have been breached, and asks if they should help in the fight. Instead, Cyrus commands them to Mount Coronet, where they will meet at Spear Pillar once the second Red Chain is completed.
The wall is suddenly smashed open behind Cyrus, revealing Cynthia and her Garchomp, prompting the two to immediately engage in a battle, with Honchkrow clashing against Spiritomb.
