Timothy L. Easter is a judge of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Middle Section. He assumed office on September 1, 2014. His current term ends on September 1, 2030.

Easter ran for re-election for judge of the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals Middle Section. He won in the retention election on August 4, 2022.


Easter was appointed to the court by Republican Governor Bill Haslam on August 19, 2014, to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Judge Jerry L. Smith. Easter took the bench on September 1, 2014.[1]

Easter was formerly a judge for the Twenty-First Circuit Court, presiding over Hickman, Lewis, Perry, and Williamson counties in Tennessee. He served on this court from 1998 until his appointment to the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals.[2][3][4]

Education

Easter received his undergraduate degree from Lipscomb University in 1982 and his J.D. degree from the Nashville School of Law in 1989.[2]

Career

Easter began his career in 1989 as an assistant district attorney for the 21st Judicial District. He then worked at the law firm of Rogers & Easter, Attorneys from 1994 until he joined the Twenty-First Circuit Court in 1998. He began serving as an adjunct professor at Lipscomb University in 2012.[2]
