J.C. McLin
J.C. McLin was a judge for the Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals. He was appointed to the Western Division of this Court in September of 2004.[1][2] Judge McLin passed away on September 12, 2011 at age 64 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Education
Judge McLin was born on July 10, 1947 in Trenton, Tennessee. He received his A.A. degree from Owen College in 1968, his B.S. degree from Lane College in 1969, his M.S.Ed. degree from the University of Tennessee-Martin in 1971 and his J.D. degree from the University of Tennessee-Knoxville in 1974.[1]
Career
Judge McLin began his legal career in 1975, working for Memphis Area Legal Services. He became an Assistant District Attorney of the 30th Judicial District later that year. He worked in this position until 1990, when he became a private practice lawyer. In early 2000, he joined the Criminal Court of the 13th Judicial District and judged in this capacity until he was appointed to the Court of Criminal Appeals in 2004.[1]
