The city of Hialeah, Florida, was initially scheduled to hold elections for city council on November 17, 2015. A primary took place on November 3, 2015. Because candidates received a majority of votes in each primary, however, the general election was called off. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was July 27, 2015. Four of the seven city council seats were up for election.[1]
Incumbents ran for re-election in all four races. Only two of them faced competition. Incumbent Jose F. Caragol defeated John Salvador Molloy and Juan Carlos Souza in the Group 2 race. Group 3's Vivian Casals-Munoz defeated Tania M. Garcia. Incumbents Lourdes Lozano and Isis Garcia-Martinez were unopposed for the Group 1 and Group 4 seats, respectively.
