|Brendan Muir is a lifelong Michigander who grew up in Plymouth Township. After nearly three decades in Metropolitan Detroit, Brendan moved to West Michigan to be closer to the outdoors and family. In early 2023, Brendan was elected to be the Chair of the Ottawa County Republican Party. Under Brendan’s leadership, the executive committee took a startup approach to restore the county party to the Republican platform, focused on Constitutional values. Brendan graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Applied Engineering. He spent 8 years working for a $40B global, Tier 1 automotive supplier on semi-autonomous vehicles and radar-based safety solutions. As a Project Manager, he led a global team of over 30 people to launch a $400M lifetime project that resulted in an enhanced customer relationship and appreciation from multiple global automakers. His experience in the demanding automotive industry required that he engage with executive management, travel worldwide, and work across multiple continents and cultures. Brendan demonstrated success by leveraging problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills to build strong teams and deliver exceptional results. He currently works as a Project Management consultant with multiple national manufacturing businesses across the biomedical, industrial, structural, and automotive industries. Brendan lives in Holland and attends Georgetown Christian Fellowship church.
- I believe the current House has failed to properly negotiate with the Biden Administration, leaving our borders wide open, increasing the debt ceiling by 2.5 trillion dollars just last year, providing over 200 billion in funding to Ukraine for a proxy war, and reauthorizing FISA. After making the decision to run on March 30, 2024, I enlisted over 85 petition gatherers and easily obtained over 1,800 signatures in under 14 days. The 4th District has shown they’re highly motivated for honest representation. I’m running to give you a voice and to Revive Our American Republic!
- Prosperity I Stop the printing press Return to sound money. The Federal Reserve gives Congress and Wall Street a nonstop flow of money, causing inflation and making it harder for everyday Americans to make ends meet. The U.S. dollar’s status as the world’s reserve currency is at risk. With the BRICS nations setting up their own system, the U.S. dollar is losing its value and global dominance. We need to back our currency with assets that are valued by Americans and other countries — physical assets such as gold and silver, farmland and oil. It’s time to return to honest money without exploitation.
- Sovereignty I End the invasion People’s freedom. Government’s duty. The Constitution protects our God-given rights. The government is responsible for upholding the Constitution, and it's top priority should be protecting our country’s border. Allowing illegal immigrants to cross the border and then use taxpayer dollars to fund their stay is a complete failure as the stewards of our nation. Why is the American government focused more on helping non-citizens than its own people? Why is it engaging in censorship and control of the people? We need to restore independence and self-governance.
Rebuild Economic Prosperity - Lower debt, secure energy independence and diversity, and reduce/simplify taxes.
Defend Citizen & American Sovereignty - Secure the border, protect constitutional rights of citizens, and stop funding foreign wars.
Restore Honest and Lawful Elections - Voter ID required, same day voting with paper ballots, remove no -excuse mail in voting, and eliminate unsupervised drop boxes.
Return to Educational Excellence - Teach critical skills and thinking instead of CRT, restore parental rights, and School Choice.
Stand for West Michigan - Support our Veterans, promote Sanctity of Life, Marriage, and Family, protect local ownership of farms, and unleash business innovation.
I have spent a great deal of time lately studying American History and our founding documents. The Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Hillsdale Constitution reader are excellent resources to remind us of America exceptionalism. There are many other resources provided by the Hillsdale college online. I would recommend any engaged citizen to use these resources for an educated perspective of American government and history.
Brendan believes the following principles are the most important:
Honesty: Representatives should tell the truth.
Integrity: Do what you say you are going to do.
Accountability: We must humble ourselves and accept accountability for our votes and actions.
Courage: Represent the people, even when it is not politically advantageous to do so.
The first historical even Brendan remembers is the daunting day of September 11th, 2001. He had just turned 10.

Muir’s campaign website stated the following:

Rebuild Economic Prosperity Brendan supports opening production of all available energy sources, especially oil and gas. He will vote to end the socialist Green New Deal because it’s not green and it’s not a deal for Americans. He will vote to stop sending money to foreign adversaries and funding foreign wars. He will return rightful power back to the states based on the U.S. Constitution. He will turn off the Federal Reserve printing press and push for the dollar to be backed by gold. By strengthening the energy independence of America, reducing the size of government, and simplifying the tax code (potentially a flat tax), inflation will be reduced, and jobs will be created. It’s time to put more Americans back to work with higher wages and a better quality of life. Action Items
Defend Citizen & American Sovereignty Brendan will vote to ensure the entire U.S. border is secure, being keenly aware that Michigan is a northern border state. He will stop the funding of illegal aliens, and instead support Social Security, Medicare and veteran affairs. He will protect and defend your Constitutional Rights, with special emphasis on freedom of speech and religion, the right to keep and bear arms, medical freedom and due process. Brendan supports a digital bill of rights and legislation to bring back American supply chains and manufacturing. Our founders established a government that protects your God-given rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Brendan will support Main Street and American workers. Action Items
Restore Honest and Lawful Elections In 2018, Michigan passed a mail-in voting proposal that permitted anyone in the state to vote absentee without needing an excuse. In October 2020, Judicial Watch announced that 353 U.S. counties had 1.8 million more registered voters than eligible voting-age citizens. In Michigan, voting machines are connected to the internet, yet public officials have refused to turn on ballot imaging. Despite multiple reports that documented substantive voter roll errors and election equipment failures, Michigan’s elected officials have taken little to no action. Brendan firmly supports the use of paper ballots, a voter ID for all citizens, same day voting, citizen-led audits, removal of no-excuse mail in ballots (only for bedridden or overseas military), elimination of unsecure drop boxes, and removal of private money in elections. Action Items
Return to Education Excellence As an engineer, Brendan understands the importance of learning to think critically and solve problems. These skills are built from a solid foundation in arithmetic, reading and writing. Brendan will cut federal funding for any school or program that pushes critical race theory. He strongly supports a universal school choice program, giving parents the authority to pick the best schools for their children and drive accountability. Brendan will promote the teaching of citizens’ rights and duties as Americans. Bringing patriotic and western civics back to schools will drive the next great American revolution of thought and innovation. Action Items
Stand for West Michigan With Lake Michigan as our border, West Michigan has an amazing industrial footprint, entrepreneurship mindset and a bustling agricultural landscape that is ripe for economic advancement. Action Items
