|I am a lifelong, third-generation Alaskan raised in our Abbott Loop - Lower Hillside community where I have been honored to represent friends and neighbors for the last two years. Recently, my wife Heather and I bought my family home in which I grew up, and where we are now starting a family of our own. This community is our home and I am running to ensure a brighter future for our community.
As your representative, I’ve worked hard to build effective relationships with fellow legislators of all parties and backgrounds to deliver for our community and all Alaskans. I’ve worked hard to promote fiscal responsibility and create a budget that works for Alaskans and protects the essential services we depend on, while also advocating for our schools to have the resources and stability needed to provide our children a high-quality education, to support public safety to help ensure we have a safe and healthy community, to support economic growth and good jobs, and invest in infrastructure throughout our state. I have and will continue to fight to protect the rights of all Alaskans can keep politicians and the federal government out of personal health care decisions.
- Working together for Alaskans: When I go door-to-door, far too many friends and neighbors are frustrated by the partisan gridlock we see in government which has only served to harm the people of Alaska. As your representative, I’ve worked to breakthrough the partisan gridlock by developing meaningful personal and professional relationships with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, and focus on coalition building and common-sense, bipartisan legislation. As a result, we have passed significant pieces of legislation and even as a freshman legislator, been one of the most effective representatives this past legislative session. I will continue to maintain my independent approach to legislating to best serve and deliver for our community
- Responsibility Balance The Budget and Protect the Permanent Fund and Dividend: We need to do the right thing for Alaskans today and tomorrow — diversify our revenues and pass a budget that’s fair to all Alaskans. Only by investing in Alaska, not cutting services Alaskans depend on, will we have a bright future for all Alaskans. As your representative, I’ve worked hard to uphold my campaign promises to be fiscally responsible when it comes to our state budget, protect funding for the essential services our community depends on, and protect the Permanent Fund and Dividend for Alaskans today and tomorrow.
- Invest in Education & Public Safety: I’ve worked hard to help ensure families in our community have access to high-quality education, from Pre-K to the university and trade opportunities, as well as promote public safety to help ensure our community is a safe and healthy place to live, work, and raise a family. I will always prioritize public safety and education and will work to ensure we have safe roads and streets for our friends and neighbors.
I am passionate about public policy that directly benefits friends and neighbors in our Abbott Loop - Lower Hillside community and all Alaskans. I’ve focused my time in the legislature working hard for commonsense and bipartisan solutions to the challenges facing Alaskans and as a result, have been one of the most effective legislators, even as a freshman.

|I am a lifelong, third-generation Alaskan, a community leader, an education advocate, and a businessman. I grew up in House District 25, went to our schools, played in our neighborhoods, and I understand the unique needs of our community. I've served on the boards of the Abbott Loop Community Council and the Anchorage Chamber of Commerce, and I have a proven track record of bringing people together to find real solutions.
My wife Heather and I were married in August of 2019 and we plan to raise a family here in the district. I am greatly concerned with the direction our state is headed in. Whether it's our universities, public schools, or our public safety system, we need to govern with integrity and create a responsible budget that is fair to all Alaskans. It's time we move past partisan politics and work across the aisle to build a brighter future for your children, and mine.
I'm running for State House to listen to our community and make sure our next generation of Alaskans have a bright future in Alaska. If you'd like to learn more or find out how to support my campaign, visit calvinforalaska.com.
- Alaska must develop a long-term fiscal plan: By diversifying our economy and adopting broad based revenue measures, we can stabilize our economy, support essential services, and get Alaska back on track.
- Education is the cornerstone of a strong economy and vibrant communities: Both our community and our economy depend on our education system. I will fight to ensure education funding is protected and we provide a pathway to higher education and trade opportunities.
- The Permanent Fund Dividend is essential to many Alaskans: The Permanent Fund Dividend has been one of the most effective tools for boosting our economy, creating jobs, and lifting Alaskans, especially our elders and those living in rural communities, out of poverty. We need to constitutionally protect a sustainable permanent fund dividend to ensure that both the fund and our dividends will be around for our children and grandchildren.

Scorecards
A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.
Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
