wip (it was recently) wednesday
ty ty @smoreofbabylon for tagging me. I believe I should get points for having every intention of posting on Wednesday and then becoming extremely tired and forgetting.
Unfortunately, I was absolutely plagued on Wednesday by thoughts about putting Evie into Inquisition and her wanting to kill Cullen and then kiss about it. I don't know if it's fair to call this a wip but it is work that did progress. And on a Wednesday!!
One of my flashes of psychosis was them having to get arranged married for some reason but they could really be in a bed for any reason here.
Evie was the first thing Cullen saw when he opened his eyes in the morning. She was so close, still asleep on the pillow beside his, drifting in and out of his vision as he struggled to wake. He set his hand against her hair and gently scratched her scalp before letting his eyes drift closed again. Warm, drifted across his thoughts. Gold. Soft. Warm. He took a long, slow breath and settled deeper into the blankets as Evie shifted closer. One more filament of morning alertness filtered through to Cullen's brain and his whole body jolted as he realized what he was doing. Unfortunately his hand was still resting against Evie’s head and he also jostled her sharply awake. "Ahh," Evie protested weakly. "Why?"

what I really love about evie is how you portray the differences between how she’s perceived, how she thinks she’s perceived, and how she feels internally—she is image-conscious in a way that makes total sense for who she is and where she comes from! also she’s cute and funny
I had to make her extremely anxious to keep her grounded. Otherwise she would use how cute and funny she is to take over the world.
I like how evie hides her true self under a lot of layers that only softness and tenderness can reveal 😭😭😭😭 also she’s cute asf
I love how soft she is underneath everything and the moments she feels comfortable enough to retract the claws and just let someone get close to her 😭😭😭 and she is the cutest that is so true thank you
