The theme this month for my monthly sticker club is “Campfire Tales,” inspired by the nostalgia I have around swapping spooky stories, urban legends, or creepy things that happened to a friend of a friend of a friend during sleepovers or around a campfire making s’mores during the summer.

October is obviously THE spooky month, but summertime presents a lot of opportunities for spookiness as well.

Which option do you like the best? Which one do you think will win?

The commute of a freelance artist

This is an old comic I may or may not have posted here before.

I’m planning on being more active here on tumblr, in light of the recent Meta news that they are using any content posted on their platforms to train ai.

It seems like there are fewer and fewer spaces where it is safe to share my art, and who knows, maybe tumblr isn’t safe either. But i’m at least going to focus on apps that allow me to say no to my data & posts being given to third parties and ai (tumblr) and platforms like Cara that have a firm anti ai stance.

Had to take a little break from Drawn To Key West, I've been trying to manage pain in my hand/wrist from drawing too much (okay, and also video games). Don't want to push myself too much, but we're moving along!

“One of my favorite memories in Key West was on a really windy, stormy day. It was sprinkling, the wind was howling, but we decided, ‘let’s just try,’ and we did.

There were 15 people at most.

Moments like that really make it clear to me that’s it not about how many people are in your audience. Even if only five people stop to watch you, it’s because they want to see something.

And we had so much fun with those 15 people. We really connected with them.”
