#life of sponty#skink#lizard#African five-lined skink#i think this species was in breeding season as k#i saw several individuals fighting and one pair mating while i was there#i just like lizards man#fond of that second pic because it looks like a lizor chilling under the world's tiniest iterator can#n.b. there seems to be a lot of variance in pictures of this lizard on iNaturalist so id is not 100%#but seems good enough#most of the individuals i saw seemed to have lost their tails and regrown them which would account for the dull or absent blue

Kia is staying with my partner while I'm abroad on holiday and she's not best pleased, poor baby. She's safe, she's well cared for, she's with someone she knows and likes, and she's getting attention, she's just,,, in a weird place without me, and not really impressed about it.
She's starting to chill out and settle in though! Slowly.

How did you learn about rain world and what compelled you to write an amazing fic about it when you haven't played it?

I watched vods! I actually watched rain world playthroughs a long time ago and enjoyed the lore and extremely trippy ascension sequence etc, but it wasn't until downpour came out and I watched the new campaigns that I got into the fandom. It's the iterators that compel me mainly in a fandom way and downpour campaigns focus on their storylines to a much greater extent. And then I read a lot of wiki and got into a hyperfocus while in my covid sickbed and wrote like hell. The rest is history.
My game is going ok! Currently in garbage wastes trying to get past what I'm loosely assuming is the gate to shoreline, but I gotta get more karma first. I have been having some issues with scavs murdering my children, which is never ideal.
And yeah trust me I miss the fic too, but ain't much to be done about that. I write for a living and in my current state don't really have anything left in me for hobby writing when the workday is done. I'll be able to write again when I can write again, and that's all can really be said.

Ok so literally no pressure, but I do have a kofi and if anyone feels like showing appreciation for my writing or art or I guess my cat via its medium, now would be a good time because there's a thing I really want to buy and I don't have enough birthday money left over for it lmao
(the thing is an art oriented android tablet. So that I can still draw shit when post work exhaustion compels me to collapse in bed against my desire to,,, you know, draw things.)

I have to say, I am Massively enjoying not being active / writing in tdp fandom while all the s5 leadup is going on. I've been following the short stories and watching the clips and I'm....not massively stressed about it?? I'm not having a crisis or panicking every time because every detail makes me need to re-evaluate my massively complicated ongoing project? Instead I'm just like. Oh that's cool, I enjoy this, this was not an ordeal.
Ngl I'm going to actively try to stay out of writing for tdp while it's updating this time at least, because it's letting me actually enjoy the show again. Sorry tdp readers, but I'm liking this unstressful experience too much 👌

#covid#life of sponty#ive been sick since i got back home on 12th#infected probably 1 to 3 days before that#so im coming up on 2 weeks of covid#and right now the worst symptom remaining is the fatigue and exhaustion#i got up and showered and sat at my desk for 30mins and now I'm so exhausted i have to go back to bed#it's effort to stroke the cat#the other day i did a small physical exertion and afterwards was so intensely tired it tooo about 6 hours of recovery#just to be able to lift small objects without dropping them#shits fucked bruh#also I'm getting the classic taste fuckery and bitter and alkaline flavours are literally making me choke#it's wild#desperately hoping it doesn't last because i really dont want to lose onions forever#i love onions#i was scared for a second that I'd lost mango too but it turns out it's just the mango skin flavour. the flesh is fine#cough was only monstrous for like a day#rest of the time it's not been any worse than ive had from normal nasty coughs. pretty manageable#the fatigue is wack though#I've never been this weak before#it's kind of fascinating from an authorial perspective#this is going to be useful experience for the writing banks
Lately (since getting home last Thursday) I am Rather Ill, one of the symptoms of which does include runny nose, and another of which includes making my Frequent Nosebleeds into something Even More Frequent, so currently I'm playing a fun game called 'is it blood' and I am playing it constantly throughout my waking and also some sleeping hours
