Three killed, one seriously injured in Tesla Cybertruck crash.

ABC 7 Bay Area reports that last night in Piedmont, CA, a Cybertruck “jumped the curb, struck a cement wall, and then wedged in between the wall and a tree,” according to officials who said speed was a factor. Like a fatal Cybertruck wreck in August, it then caught fire.

One person was pulled from the vehicle by another driver, and they are recovering from burn wounds.

Bluesky won’t use your posts for AI training, but can it stop anyone else?

Today, a Hugging Face employee published data from 1 million Bluesky posts scraped from its API to the AI repository. He’s removed it and apologized, but 404 Media notes the set was “trending” all day.

Bluesky says it’s looking into ways to “specify consent (or not) for AI training.” but acknowledges that “It will be up to outside developers to respect these settings.”

The former president of Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Worldwide Studios and current head of indie initiatives has been a part of PlayStation since it started in 1993, but now he’s leaving in January.

Who actually owns your social media accounts? (Not you.)

As 404 Media and others note, Elon Musk’s X has inserted itself into The Onion’s acquisition of Infowars, arguing that neither Alex Jones nor the estate handling his bankruptcy owns the associated social media accounts.

Since X simply grants a license for their use, the lawyers say that can’t be transferred without permission.

Pursuant to the Successful Bidder Notice, the Sale Motion, and to the extent applicable, the Jones IP Sale Motion, the Trustee now seeks to contravene X Corp.’s TOS by improperly selling or otherwise transferring the X Accounts (which neither Jones nor his bankruptcy estate own) to a third party.Pursuant to the Successful Bidder Notice, the Sale Motion, and to the extent applicable, the Jones IP Sale Motion, the Trustee now seeks to contravene X Corp.’s TOS by improperly selling or otherwise transferring the X Accounts (which neither Jones nor his bankruptcy estate own) to a third party.

A ‘banking as a service’ provider collapsed, but where did the money go?

Thousands of people say they’ve collectively been locked out of more than $30 million due to the bankruptcy of fintech middle-man Synapse.

CNBC reports federal agencies like the FDIC don’t cover nonbanks like Synapse, and “the estate of Andreessen Horowitz-backed Synapse doesn’t have the money to hire an outside firm to perform a full reconciliation of its ledgers.”

If you have one of these D-Link routers, you need to replace it, now.

The Register points out an advisory from D-Link for a series of business routers asking owners to “Please Retire and Replace” these models: DSR-150 / DSR-150N / DSR-250 / DSR-250N.

The problem? A “stack buffer overflow vulnerability, which allows unauthenticated users to execute remote code execution,” published after their EOL, so D-Link isn’t fixing it and will instead offer owners a discounted upgrade.

SpaceX says its 6th Starship flight test ‘delivered.’

The Starship vehicle successfully reignited a single Raptor engine while in space before splashing down in the Indian Ocean, writes SpaceX.

Unlike the 5th flight test, this one didn’t include a tower catch for the booster, as “automated health checks of critical hardware on the launch and catch tower triggered an abort of the catch attempt,” and it diverted to the Gulf of Mexico.
