The Public Information Office (PIO) works to engage and inform residents about the programs, services, and activities of St. Mary’s County Government (SMCG).
PIO distributes all official news releases on behalf of St. Mary’s County Government. Residents can read and search for news releases, or sign up to have them delivered straight to your inbox at https://www.stmaryscountymd.gov/News.
The Public Information Office manages and responds to inquiries from the general public and news/media organizations.
Additionally, Public Forums are held quarterly to allow residents to provide direct feedback to the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County.
PIO provides support for several annual events, including Maryland Day, Law Enforcement Appreciation Day, Flag Day, Fire/Rescue Appreciation Day, and more! The office also plans and coordinates groundbreakings, ribbon cutting ceremonies, dignitary visits, and other special events for SMCG.
PIO also manages public event invitations for and requests for recognition from the Commissioners of St. Mary’s County.
