Striking A Chord Since 2010 – MWAM is held on Thursdays each month, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm in our Dining Room. Music is a survival tactic for many people in dealing with life’s difficulties. MWAM is aimed at bringing our community together through music. Musicians bring their instruments and play for our homeless and near-homeless guests. It is an intimate setting, so musicians have the opportunity to interact with our guests, answer questions and/or talk about music and its history. We encourage musicians to invite their fan base so they can engage and enjoy music with individuals they would not normally encounter in their daily lives. There is no cost and all are welcome to attend.
Creating Hope Since 2011 – AWAM is held on the 2nd Thursday of every month, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm in our Dining Room. It provides an opportunity for TMM Program Participants and our homeless and near-homeless guests from the Skid Row Community to share their hopes, dreams and frustrations through creative mediums and find a common bond in expressing themselves through art. It also gives volunteers an opportunity to interact with our guests in a unique way. There is no cost and all are welcome to attend.
Healing Through Laughter Since 2012 – LWAM is held quarterly on Thursdays, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm in our Dining Room. Each quarter, guest comedians host an open mic, bringing the gift of laughter to our community. This unique and creative format allows community participants to showcase their talents that might otherwise go unnoticed. Like all of our With A Mission events, LWAM is meant to bring our community together. Participants perform stand-up routines, present spoken word pieces, play musical pieces, etc. There is no cost and all are welcome to attend.
