The pitcher that time forgot.  Poz goes through the MVP picks each year, with a WAR lens.  And at the end of the article, he looks at Black Jack v Cone, and ends it with Kevin Appier, a pitcher who could hold his own with the very best of his generation.  Among the great, superb, incredible pitchers of 1962-1971 (a class headed by Pedro, Maddux, Clemens, RJ) and backed up by a group that would be the best in most other generations (Smoltz, Glavine, Mussina, Schilling, Mo Rivera), we find the forgotten pitchers like Kevins Brown and Appier.

Sabermetics however will keep their story alive.
