Kershaw v Strasburg
Apparently, it's Strasburg, not Kershaw, that was the pre-season betting favorite to win the Cy Young. Can someone post the odds for the top 5 or 6 in the AL and NL? I'd especially like to see how Cain and Hamels did as well.
And the AL must be crazy, with Verlander, Felix, Weaver, Price, Dickey. I mean just with those five, you'd have to give them 5:1 odds. But then considering you have another dozen viable candidates (Darvish, Sale, Greinke among others), and at best it'd be 5:1 for any of those big 5, and they are likely averaging 7:1.
This is why we don't forecast any pitcher with 20 wins. We know that maybe ONE or two of those guys will get 20 wins, but we don't know who. Verlander could win 21, or 19, or 7 if he's hurt. We don't put the over/under at 20 wins for any single pitcher. We probably put it at 16, maybe 17.?
