?Glenn continues his terrific work, this time focusing on wOBA. Expectedly, the coefficient for the walk regressed the least, while the single regressed the most. What is interesting is that the coefficient for the single regressed so much that it now predicted wOBA worse than the walk! This is something we talked about a long time back.

Thanks for the link Tango and glad to see the new site up and running. I, like you, wasn’t surprised when walks regressed the least, while the more volatile batted ball numbers regressed the most.
However, I was surprised to see a regressed version of wOBA add so little predictive value over the usual number; maybe my expectations were too high, but I find it interesting that the regression didn’t really matter.
