Bayesian Rotten Tomatoes
For whatever reason, Rotten Tomatoes does not regress their ratings to the mean.
IMDB however, does.? I don't know that they do a good job of it though. They add 25,000 votes of average ratings (see bottom of that page). Where did they get that numbers? That's the minimum number of votes needed to be listed. It's a... silly... way to do it. An old movie for example will continue to drop in the ratings because they won't get any new votes, while the minimum number of votes (and hence the amount of regression) will continue to go up. However, I do applaud them for at least doing SOMETHING.
Anyway, I'd love to get my hands on the Rotten Tomatoes data, so we can do something with it.
