I'm going to stay away from the morning workouts today. I mean how many twitter updates that say "BP group is..." can you take.

The possible future Timber Rattlers will be playing the possible future Cedar Rapids Kernels in Tempe at 3pm CDT today.

There will be updates on the game at my twitter account.

I will update the blog after the game tonight -- when I can.

I made it to Arizona...with no problem. I made it through the Marquette game...barely.

I am two hours behind CDT, but that means it's only about 7:30 here. I'll be heading over to the minor league complex in about an hour.

Depending on wireless connection, I'll have updates on the blog during the day, including a little on the first Timber Rattlers spring training game as they face Lake County today.

Maybe a live blog...if possible. No promises.

Check back here around 2:50pm CDT to see if anything is happening.

Opening Day is here and I could probably use an extra two or three days. But, that isn't going to happen.

So, I have to wrap up some things and there are some other random tasks that must be completed.

As I write this there are about 10 hours to go until the first pitch.

There will hopefully be an update or two around 3:00pm today. If not then, probably closer to game time.

Lots on the docket tonight:

Arizona Fall League started today with ex-Rattlers playing for the Peoria Javelinas. Joe Woerman ('06) is a blogger now. Ex-Rattlers on the Baseball America PCL Top 20 Prospects list. Ex-Rattler made the BA Eastern League Top 20 Prospects list. And maybe a few other things that I've been thinking about.

First: Good morning.

Second: Thanks to The Bucky Channel and The Daily Drink over at SportsBubbler.com for the links. Like the Timber Rattler ticket department, Rattler Radio had its best September 23rd ever yesterday

Third: I'll still be doing a post on the Mariner game through the rest of the season. There are a lot of ex-Rattlers up on that team right now.

Fourth: Since there are so many new readers of the blog, I'll be putting up a series of posts to let you know a little more about the Timber Rattlers and maybe answer some of the questions that I've seen out there. Like, Who owns the Rattlers?; Wouldn't an exhibition game with the Brewers be neat?; and various others.

Fifth: I have already added in links to the other members of the Brewer minor league system and a few of the Brewer blogs. If there are any that I am missing, feel free to drop a line in the comments.

Sixth: Stay classy, Timber Rattler fans.

I really planned on having some stuff posted before now....Now, it's two hours to air time and....well, enough messing around. To the Posts!

They can go out the window when the internet at the hotel decides to work for five minutes at a time.

Seriously. The wireless at the team hotel worked perfectly between 6am and 10am. I go to grab breakfast and lunch and two hours later it goes all haywire.

I owe a bunch of posts of the Rattler History...since 2000 variety and there are a few other things about which I would like to post. Maybe tonight...but don't bet on it. The internet at the hotel apparently doesn't work between 11pm and 1am.

That said, it will be a busy morning on Thursday. For right now, here are the Game Notes and the Tonight's Starting Pitcher posts.

For those of you interested....the bus arrived back in Appleton around 2:30am this morning. I overslept a bit and needed to get some work stuff done that allows me to keep doing...whatever the heck it is that I do.

Anyway, the Mariner report, the Midwest League action, and Rattler history...since 2000 are next along with a link to the All-Decade team (position players) from 1958-1967 on the main Rattler site.

After that there are some errands to run, laundry to do, and a few other things before the homestand starts on Friday.
