- El zapping time (també conegut com a zap time) és el temps que transcorre entre que l'usuari prem un botó del comandament per canviar de canal, i la imatge del nou canal és mostrat correctament a la pantalla del televisor, juntament amb l'àudio que li correspont. Aquest efecte està present en tots els sistemes de televisió, però cal fer-hi especial èmfasi en la televisió digital en general, i la IPTV en particular, on els seus efectes poden ser més notables i afectar a la qualitat de l'experiència visual (QoE). - The zap time is the total duration of time from which the viewer changes the channel using a remote control to the point that the picture of the new channel is displayed. This includes the corresponding audio. These delays exist in all television systems, but they are more pronounced in digital television and systems that use the internet such as IPTV. Human interaction with the system is completely ignored in these measurements, so zap time is not the same as channel surfing. Zap time can be very disturbing for some viewers and for this reason it is considered an issue that must be addressed in IPTV systems. (en)
