Link between a history of undernourishment and chronic fatigue?

Is there research on the possibility of chronic undernourishment paired with exercise, resulting in major weight loss, leading to long-term fatigue or ME-CFS? The theory would be that if you are expending a lot more calories than you are taking in, your body will make you feel tired to stop weight loss. If this happens over and over, it might preemptively make you tired whenever you burn even a small amount of energy through exercise. Especially if you are exercising on an empty stomach or even slightly low blood sugar. [more inside]

I'm tired every day. What steps can I take now to start fixing this?

I've had an ongoing problem of feeling mentally and physically tired on most days for several years. This has reached a point where it's significantly affecting my work performance and my ability to be mentally present for my family. It's a given that a long-term solution will require gradual changes over time, but what can I do first to get some relief as soon as possible? [more inside]

The energy, where does it come from?

I would like to be someone with a lot of energy to do a lot of things. When I was younger I think maybe I actually had a lot of energy or at least average (ran half marathons, completed a challenging post-grad degree, traveled). I can't figure out where other people are finding the wherewithal to do some pretty standard stuff. Maybe you can explain. [more inside]

Buying a salad instead of getting a housekeeper

I'm in a position where I can work more consulting hours and make more, or work less consulting hours and get paid less. I've been thinking about whether my ideal lifestyle includes getting a housekeeper and therefore having more time to work, or continuing to do a lot ourselves. Now that I understand that I'd like to avoid getting a housekeeper for specific reasons, I'm looking for hacks to get more time anyway. [more inside]

Why do I get so tired when I arrive at home?

I had a great day at work, felt fine, and immediately as soon as I got home I feel bone-tired and my face feels flushed. This happens 2-3 days a week. Tried to nap, can’t fall asleep. I stopped drinking recently, if that might be related. Does anyone have this or know why it might be happening or how to fix it? It’s killing my house-chores productivity. Thanks in advance!

How to be less of a hangry, tired toddler

I get cranky and disagreeable when I am hungry or tired, it seems (to me) more so than most people. I’ve been working on this by being more attentive to when I’m starting to feel it coming on, and having a quick solution on hand (having a snack or excusing myself to close my eyes in a quiet room, for instance). But sometimes it’s just not possible or practical to do anything about it immediately - is there some way I can “train” myself to function better when I’m feeling this way?

Tired of being fatigued all the time

I've been feeling fatigued for the past two months. Not sleepy or lethargic, just physically heavy or "droopy"--like I'm wearing a lead suit and I just really really want to go lie down. It seems to get worse after moderate physical activity (or significantly worse after strenuous activity), until I've had a nap or been back to bed. I'm less tired after I've rested. I've been to the doctor but they haven't figured anything out yet. I'm hoping the internet might have some good suggestions for things to talk about with them or try before my next appointment. Of Sleep and Rage

At least once a week, often more, I get woken up by something at night shortly after I've fallen asleep. My childhood included abuse, neglect, loneliness, and loss. As a result, I have issues with patience and warmth. I can be sarcastic, detached, and brusque. What helps with PTSD-related exhaustion?

I have been in therapy for a few years to deal with complex PTSD. It has made a world of difference with the emotional and cognitive aspects of trauma, but I still struggle with the physical symptoms of PTSD (like overactive nervous system and digestive stuff). The hardest of these to deal with is being tired all the time. Assume I have gotten all my levels checked, eat healthy, and sleep decently well. What else is worth trying?
