Maybe Some F**king Merlot?

My wife and I are thinking of spending a week in San Francisco and the Napa Valley in mid-July for our 10th anniversary. Neither of us have ever been to SF or wine country. Can you wonderful people provide any tips, tricks, or suggestions? Best wineries to visit, things to do in SF, places to stay, etc. Basically where should we go and what should we do? Any help greatly appreciated!

Tiny corporate retreat space in CA Wine County?

I have a small consulting firm (3 people) and our busy season kicks off on Labor Day. I'm looking for a location in Napa or Sonoma where we can stay (nice place, separate rooms) one night and have access to a conference room, coffee and snacks, etc., on either side. This would need to be a weeknight in the next few weeks. [more inside]

What should we explore around the SF Bay area on short notice?

A few months ago, I booked an incredible deal on a flight to spend 4 days next week in or around San Francisco. Life got busy, and I still haven't made any actual plans for what we're going to do, or where we're going to stay. We've been to SF a few times before, and want to rent a car and explore the area surrounding the city this time around -- particularly to the North. Any budget-friendly suggestions? [more inside]

Reasonable Eats in the Napa/Calistoga Area

We're driving back from Harbin Hot Springs to the Bay Area on Monday (through Napa, Calistoga, Healdsburg, etc.) and we're looking for a place to have a reasonably priced dinner (though I know some places will be closed on a Monday). This means nicer than deli sandwiches but no Cyrus, no French Laundry, etc. Any recommendations?

Romantic getaway hotels near Bay Area?

Cheap wine county hotels/motels/ B&B's? I am planning a romantic getaway in August. We want to check out an area 1-2 hours away from San Francisco, and preferably in Napa or Sonoma. But, if you know of other romantic weekend getaways, we are open to exploring! We have been to hot springs that were also amazing. We are on a budget, but sifting through Kayak and hotels.com is a chore and not always accurate, so we would love your recommendations. Thanks so much!

Suggestions for California wine country in March?

Looking for a winery with an outdoor restaurant and an attached hotel

Valentine's Day filter: My girlfriend has a relatively specific request for Valentine's Day: "an outdoor restaurant at a vineyard... that has an attached hotel." A somewhat cheaper version of this would be the idea. Ideally, it'd be $300/night or less and somewhere within ~2 hours drive of Palo Alto, California. Any ideas?

Inexpensive Napa Winery That Will Take a Large Group

Inexpensive Napa or Sonoma Wineries that can accomodate large groups? I'm taking a bus of 50 people to Napa (preferably Napa but we can do Sonoma) on a Saturday. The group in question will include people who don't make a whole lot of $$$. I'm looking for quality wineries (No Gallo or Mondavi!) that could take a group that large for a tasting fee of $5-$15. Bonus points if you know of a good place for lunch for a group that large.

Help for a wayward gay?

A friend of mine, who cultivates an image as a mensch, is really a charlatan. He will do anything to be in favor, even if it means betraying his true nature: a gay man who is afraid of ridicule and exile.
