From Simple English Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Rub al Khali

The Rub' al Khali or Empty Quarter is a desert in Saudi Arabia. It is one of the largest sand deserts in the world.[1] It covers an area of about 650,000 square kilometres, more than all of Holland, Belgium and France together.[2] Some of the sand dunes are more than 250 metres high.[2]
