Alan Merten

Alan Gilbert Merten (December 27, 1941 – May 21, 2020)[1] was an American educator. He was the fifth President of George Mason University from 1996 until his retirement in 2012.[2] He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Merten died on May 21, 2020 in Florida from Parkinson's disease-related problems, aged 78.[3]
