These are all relevant and important points. Search especially needs to be intuitive for users and as we work on the strategy for search, we will use this to inform UI changes. It will still be some time before we have more clarity on search strategy, so can consider Seddon's suggestions for an improvement now.

This rendering is annoying, and thank you for this bug ticket. We have a slow rendering process and it’s our plan to have some better options available for teams who need to render interactive JS elements on the server. Attempts to recreate the bug confirm that it’s only on some browsers and with files, not images. So, I’m keeping the ticket in our backlog to see if we can fix it as we make overall improvements, and will weigh it against other bug tickets to see about some tweaks, which aren't a long-term solution.
