Multi-site best practices

Introduction:

Amazon Pay accounts based in the United States let you have multiple websites or stores. You can easily manage your transactions and funds in one account if you have multiple brands or labels under one business. This can be especially helpful if all your brands or labels have the same:

  • Tax information
  • Deposit method
  • Charge method
  • Customer service information

If any of this information varies between brands or labels, we recommend that you use multiple accounts.

Integration settings for multi-site:

Depending on your integration, you may want to pass along the correct store name and soft descriptor so your customers can tell which store they bought something from.

The following ecommerce plugins pass along individual soft descriptors and store names:

Ecommerce Plugin Soft Descriptor Store Name
WooCommerce
BigCommerce
Magento
Shopify

If you've completed a custom integration, specify the store name and soft descriptor in your captures and refunds for each of your brands or labels.

If you're using one account for multiple brands or labels, be sure to create a new store configuration so the correct name is displayed when the customer clicks on the Amazon Pay button.

Something to consider:

If you have multiple brands or labels, we strongly recommend that you create unique accounts for each if:

  • You're using an ecommerce plugin that can't specify the soft descriptor or the store name. This is likely to confuse both you and your customers.
  • Your customer service information is different for each brand or label.
  • Your tax information is different for each brand or label.
  • Your deposit method is different for each brand or label.
  • Your charge method is different for each brand or label.
