- Fig. 4 is a flow diagram showing the flow of the route information providing process
- Fig. 5 is an example of an application screen displayed on the user terminal 2.
- a user authentication process is performed between the user terminal 2 and the route information providing system 1 (steps S40, S50). It is assumed that the user has already registered as a user for the route information providing service, and that the user's attribute information (name, gender, age, hobbies, preferences, etc.) has already been registered in the route information providing system 1.
- the application (processor) of the user terminal 2 displays a shooting screen 50 as shown in FIG. 5 on the display unit 26.
- the imaging unit 20 executes a shooting (step S41).
- the face detection unit 21 detects the user's face from the captured image (step S42)
- the organ information detection unit 22 detects feature points of facial organs from the detected face (step S43).
- the psychological state estimation unit 23 recognizes the user's facial expression based on the detection result of the organ information detection unit 22, thereby estimating the user's psychological state (emotions) (step S44).
- the current psychological state acquisition unit 12 of the route information providing system 1 acquires this estimation result as information on the "user's current psychological state" (step S52).
- the application (processor) of the user terminal 2 controls the location measurement unit 24 to measure the latitude and longitude of the current location of the user terminal 2 (step S45).
- the location information acquisition unit 11 acquires this measurement result as information on the "user's current location" (step S54).
- the application (processor) of the user terminal 2 displays an input screen 52 as shown in FIG. 5 on the display unit 26.
- This input screen 52 is a UI that allows the user to select a target psychological state (emotion).
- the user selects the psychological state (emotion) he or she wishes to be in from the options displayed on the input screen 52 (step S46).
- the target psychological state setting unit 13 of the route information providing system 1 obtains the result of this selection as information on the "target psychological state” (step S56).
- the route information providing system 1 acquires information from the user terminal 2 in the order of "user's current psychological state,” “user's current location,” and “target psychological state,” but the three pieces of information may be acquired in any order. Alternatively, the three pieces of information may be collected on the user terminal 2 side and then sent together to the route information providing system 1.
- the recommended route selection unit 14 of the route information providing system 1 selects a recommended route suitable for the user based on the "user's current psychological state,” the "user's current location,” and the “target psychological state” (step S57). Specifically, the recommended route selection unit 14 selects, from among multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10, a route that matches the following conditions as the recommended route:
- Condition 1 The user's current location corresponds to the starting point of the route.
- Condition 2 The user's current psychological state corresponds to the initial psychological state of the route.
- Condition 3 The target psychological state corresponds to the result psychological state of the route.
- the tolerance for whether or not something is "matched” can be designed as appropriate. For example, it may be determined to be “matched” only if there is an exact match, or if there is an approximate match or similarity. If there is an exact match, it may be adopted, and if there is no exact match, the closest match may be adopted.
- the tolerance for each of conditions 1, 2, and 3 may be different. For example, an exact match may be required for condition 3, while conditions 1 and 2 may be acceptable if they are similar. By making the tolerance for condition 3 stricter, it is possible to increase the accuracy of the emotional changes that occur to the user, which is expected to result in improved customer satisfaction with this service.
- the information providing unit 15 transmits route information 30 of the selected recommended route to the user terminal 2 (step S58).
- the user terminal 2 Upon receiving the route information 30, the user terminal 2 displays a map screen 53 (FIG. 5) on which the recommended route is drawn on a map, thereby recommending the recommended route to the user (step S47). Note that navigation may be performed so that the user can travel along the recommended route.
- the route information providing system 1 of this embodiment selects a route and provides information taking into account the user's current location and current psychological state, so that when the user moves along a recommended route, it is possible to bring about a change to the target psychological state with a high degree of certainty.
- the recommended route is selected based on the three conditions 1 to 3, but other selection conditions may also be used.
- FIG. 6 shows an example in which human attributes are taken into consideration.
- route information is registered for each human attribute (gender, age, etc.).
- the emotion change group "sad ⁇ relaxed" is further divided into small groups by gender and age group.
- the recommended route selection unit 14 selects a route that corresponds to the user's attributes from among the multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10 (for example, if the user is a woman in her twenties, a small group that meets the conditions of twenties and women is selected), and selects a recommended route that meets conditions 1 to 3 from the selected small group. Even if the same experience is experienced, men and women often feel and are affected differently.
- FIG. 7 shows an example in which time periods are taken into consideration.
- Route information is registered in the route information storage unit 10 for each time period.
- the emotion change group "sad ⁇ relaxed" is further divided into sub-groups such as morning, daytime, evening, nighttime, late night, etc.
- the recommended route selection unit 14 selects the route that corresponds to the current time period from among the multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10 (for example, if the current time is 10:00, the sub-group that satisfies the condition of morning is selected), and selects a recommended route that satisfies conditions 1 to 3 from the selected sub-group.
- Factors such as scenery, audible sounds, sunlight, and crowds can change depending on the time period. Therefore, by taking the time period into consideration as in FIG. 7, it is possible to induce emotion changes with a higher degree of accuracy.
- FIG. 8 shows an example in which the time of year is taken into consideration.
- Route information is registered in the route information storage unit 10 for each time of year.
- the emotion change group "sad ⁇ relaxed" is further divided into sub-groups such as spring, summer, fall, winter, etc.
- the recommended route selection unit 14 selects the route that corresponds to the current time of year from among the multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10 (for example, if today's date is April 1, the sub-group that satisfies the condition of spring is selected), and selects a recommended route that satisfies conditions 1 to 3 from the selected sub-group.
- Factors such as scenery, audible sounds, sunlight, and crowds can change depending on the time of year. Therefore, by taking the time of year into consideration as in FIG. 8, it is possible to induce emotion changes with a higher degree of accuracy.
- FIG. 9 shows an example of a route information learning process.
- the route information learning unit 16 generates route information based on learning data 90 collected from an unspecified number of people.
- the learning data 90 includes information on a moving route 91 and information on psychological states 93 recorded at multiple points 92 on the moving route 91.
- Such learning data 90 can be collected using a terminal 9 having the same functions as the user terminal 2 described above. For example, assuming that a person P is walking around while carrying a terminal 9, the terminal 9 measures its position at regular time intervals (e.g., once per minute) and accumulates position information (latitude and longitude information) of multiple points on the moving route.
- the terminal 9 automatically takes a facial image and estimates the psychological state, and records the information on the psychological state linked to the position information.
- the data automatically recorded in this way is collected by the route information providing system 1 and used to learn route information.
- the simplest method is to divide the entire travel route 91 given as learning data 90 into multiple short routes (sections) 94, with boundaries set at points 92 to which psychological state information 93 is linked. This makes it possible to generate information on short routes 94, each with psychological state information 93 linked to its start and end points.
- Pre-learning using learning data 90 collected from an unspecified number of people is called offline learning.
- the route information learning unit 16 may perform online learning using data fed back from the user who used the route information. That is, after presenting the recommended route to the user in step S47 of FIG. 4, the user terminal 2 monitors the movement of the user. Then, when the user reaches the end point of the recommended route, the user terminal 2 attracts the user's attention by outputting a message or sounding an alarm, and takes a facial image of the user with the imaging unit 20. Then, the psychological state estimation unit 23 estimates the current psychological state of the user from the facial image, and feeds back the estimation result to the route information providing system 1.
- the route information learning unit 16 compares the conditions (target psychological state) given when the recommended route was selected with the estimation result fed back from the user (the user's actual psychological state after traveling the recommended route), and if the two do not match, updates (modifies) the route information in the route information storage unit 10 based on the information of the estimation result fed back.
- the route information learning unit 16 may obtain location information and ratings of stores and spots based on review information on social networking services (SNS), and generate route information from that information. This allows for the accumulation of route information to be achieved quickly.
- SNS social networking services
- FIG. 10 shows an example of estimating the psychological state of a user visiting a store using a non-contact temperature measuring device installed in the store.
- the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 has a camera, an infrared sensor, a touch panel display, a communication function, etc., and automatically measures the surface temperature of the face captured in the camera's field of view. It is installed at the entrance of a store to measure the temperature of customers entering the store. Such a non-contact temperature measuring device 100 is used in place of the user terminal 2.
- the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 photographs the user's face, judges the facial expression from the facial image, and estimates the current psychological state.
- the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 displays an input screen for the target psychological state on the touch panel display, and allows the user to select the psychological state (emotion) they wish to be in. Note that since the location where the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 is installed is known, measuring the current location can be omitted.
- the information on "user's current psychological state,” “target psychological state,” and “current location” obtained by the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 is sent to the route information providing system 1 and used to select a recommended route.
- the information on the recommended route may be displayed on the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 or on a smartphone carried by the user.
- the route information providing system 1 may also be applied to, for example, a service for suggesting sightseeing routes for tourists. This makes it possible to plan a route that matches the psychological state and travel concept of the tourist.
- the route information providing system 1 may also be applied to a car navigation system. For example, when the driver is irritated, a route that avoids congested routes may be presented, suggesting a route with high psychological safety to the driver. Alternatively, it may be possible to suggest a driving route that will lift the driver's spirits depending on the psychological state of the driver and passengers.

Description
The present invention relates to a technology for providing route information to users.
Devices that measure a user's current location, guide the user along the route to the destination, and recommend recommended destinations are now in practical use. Examples include car navigation systems and smartphone navigation apps. This type of device generally guides the user along the shortest route to the destination or the shortest time route taking into account traffic congestion, but in recent years, devices that provide route guidance that increases user satisfaction have also been devised. Patent Document 1 proposes a device that uses map information onto which emotion data is mapped to navigate the user through places that will make the user feel happy.
The device in Patent Document 1 uses map information called an emotion map, which associates emotions (happiness levels) with each point on a map. This idea is based on the assumption that anyone who visits a particular point will feel the same emotion.
However, human emotions are not that simple, and even seeing the same thing or having the same experience affects each person emotionally in different ways. Our research has shown that emotional changes that occur when exposed to external stimuli depend not only on the content of the stimulus, but also heavily on the psychological state (initial emotional state) of the person at the time the stimulus is received. For example, a person with happy emotions may feel happier when visiting a lively place, but conversely, a person with sad emotions may feel depressed when visiting the same place. Therefore, it is highly likely that the method proposed in Patent Document 1 will not be able to bring about the desired emotional change in the user.
The present invention was made in consideration of the above situation, and aims to provide a new technology for providing information on routes that will stimulate changes in the user's emotions.

<Example of route information>
FIG. 3 shows an example of route information registered in the route
A large amount of route information is classified (categorized) into emotion change groups and registered in the route information storage unit 10.
Emotion change groups are defined as pairs of "mental state before moving along a route (initial psychological state)" and "mental state after moving along a route (resulting psychological state)." Below, emotion change groups are described by connecting the initial psychological state (sad) and the resulting psychological state (relaxed) with an →, such as "sad → relaxed." For example, "sad → relaxed" represents a change in a person who was feeling "sad" to a "relaxed" state, "irritated → relaxed" represents a change from an "irritated" emotion to a "relaxed" state, and "sad → excited" represents a change from a "sad" emotion to an "excited" emotion.
The initial psychological state and the resulting psychological state can be set in any way, and various groups of emotional changes can be set. However, because a route information provision service is a service intended to give value and satisfaction to users, typically, the initial psychological state should be set to a negative emotion (sadness, frustration, anger, guilt, shame, anxiety (fear), loneliness, etc.), and the resulting psychological state should be set to a positive emotion (relaxation, excitement, love, joy, fun, interest, elation, etc.).
There are various reasons why such changes in the psychological state of users traveling along a route occur, that is, factors that influence the psychological state of users. For example, these include the scenery (cityscape, nature, etc.), clean air, the sounds heard, sunlight, ups and downs in the road, crowds, and shops and historical sites along the route.
A specific example of route information 30 belonging to the emotion change group "sad → relaxed" is shown in Figure 3. The route information 30 includes a route definition 31, an initial psychological state definition 32, and a resultant psychological state definition 33. The route definition 31 may include information on the start point of the route, information on the end point of the route, and information on intermediate points between the start point and the end point. The information on the start point and the end point is, for example, location information such as latitude and longitude. The information on intermediate points may be represented by location information such as latitude and longitude, or may be represented by information such as the road name or road section ID. An emotion change group is defined by the combination of the initial psychological state definition 32 and the resultant psychological state definition 33.
<Example of route information provision process>
4 and 5, a flow of a route information providing process by the routeinformation providing system 1 will be described. Fig. 4 is a flow diagram showing the flow of the route information providing process, and Fig. 5 is an example of an application screen displayed on the user terminal 2.

4 and 5, a flow of a route information providing process by the route
When a user operates the user terminal 2 and starts an application for using the route information providing service, a user authentication process is performed between the user terminal 2 and the route information providing system 1 (steps S40, S50). It is assumed that the user has already registered as a user for the route information providing service, and that the user's attribute information (name, gender, age, hobbies, preferences, etc.) has already been registered in the route information providing system 1.
In response to a request from the current psychological state acquisition unit 12 of the route information providing system 1 (step S51), the application (processor) of the user terminal 2 displays a shooting screen 50 as shown in FIG. 5 on the display unit 26. When the user aligns his/her face with the guide frame 51 on the shooting screen 50, the imaging unit 20 executes a shooting (step S41). Then, the face detection unit 21 detects the user's face from the captured image (step S42), and the organ information detection unit 22 detects feature points of facial organs from the detected face (step S43). Next, the psychological state estimation unit 23 recognizes the user's facial expression based on the detection result of the organ information detection unit 22, thereby estimating the user's psychological state (emotions) (step S44). The current psychological state acquisition unit 12 of the route information providing system 1 acquires this estimation result as information on the "user's current psychological state" (step S52).
In response to a request from the location information acquisition unit 11 of the route information providing system 1 (step S53), the application (processor) of the user terminal 2 controls the location measurement unit 24 to measure the latitude and longitude of the current location of the user terminal 2 (step S45). The location information acquisition unit 11 acquires this measurement result as information on the "user's current location" (step S54).
In response to a request from the target psychological state setting unit 13 of the route information providing system 1 (step S55), the application (processor) of the user terminal 2 displays an input screen 52 as shown in FIG. 5 on the display unit 26. This input screen 52 is a UI that allows the user to select a target psychological state (emotion). The user selects the psychological state (emotion) he or she wishes to be in from the options displayed on the input screen 52 (step S46). The target psychological state setting unit 13 of the route information providing system 1 obtains the result of this selection as information on the "target psychological state" (step S56).
In the example of FIG. 4, the route information providing system 1 acquires information from the user terminal 2 in the order of "user's current psychological state," "user's current location," and "target psychological state," but the three pieces of information may be acquired in any order. Alternatively, the three pieces of information may be collected on the user terminal 2 side and then sent together to the route information providing system 1.
Next, the recommended route selection unit 14 of the route information providing system 1 selects a recommended route suitable for the user based on the "user's current psychological state," the "user's current location," and the "target psychological state" (step S57). Specifically, the recommended route selection unit 14 selects, from among multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10, a route that matches the following conditions as the recommended route:
Condition 1: The user's current location corresponds to the starting point of the route.
- Condition 2: The user's current psychological state corresponds to the initial psychological state of the route.
Condition 3: The target psychological state corresponds to the result psychological state of the route.
Condition 1: The user's current location corresponds to the starting point of the route.
- Condition 2: The user's current psychological state corresponds to the initial psychological state of the route.
Condition 3: The target psychological state corresponds to the result psychological state of the route.
The tolerance for whether or not something is "matched" can be designed as appropriate. For example, it may be determined to be "matched" only if there is an exact match, or if there is an approximate match or similarity. If there is an exact match, it may be adopted, and if there is no exact match, the closest match may be adopted. In addition, the tolerance for each of conditions 1, 2, and 3 may be different.
The following explanation will be given assuming that the user's current location is "x1, y1", the user's current psychological state is "sad", the target psychological state is "relaxed", and the route information 30 in Figure 3 has been selected as the recommended route.
The information providing unit 15 transmits route information 30 of the selected recommended route to the user terminal 2 (step S58). Upon receiving the route information 30, the user terminal 2 displays a map screen 53 (FIG. 5) on which the recommended route is drawn on a map, thereby recommending the recommended route to the user (step S47). Note that navigation may be performed so that the user can travel along the recommended route.
As described above, the route information providing system 1 of this embodiment selects a route and provides information taking into account the user's current location and current psychological state, so that when the user moves along a recommended route, it is possible to bring about a change to the target psychological state with a high degree of certainty.
<Examples of recommended route selection conditions>
In the above embodiment, the recommended route is selected based on the threeconditions 1 to 3, but other selection conditions may also be used.
<Examples of recommended route selection conditions>
In the above embodiment, the recommended route is selected based on the three
FIG. 6 shows an example in which human attributes are taken into consideration. In the route information storage unit 10, route information is registered for each human attribute (gender, age, etc.). For example, the emotion change group "sad → relaxed" is further divided into small groups by gender and age group. In this case, the recommended route selection unit 14 selects a route that corresponds to the user's attributes from among the multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10 (for example, if the user is a woman in her twenties, a small group that meets the conditions of twenties and women is selected), and selects a recommended route that meets conditions 1 to 3 from the selected small group. Even if the same experience is experienced, men and women often feel and are affected differently. In addition, when age groups are different, differences in feeling and being affected appear. Therefore, by taking into consideration the attributes of a person as in FIG. 6, it is possible to induce an emotion change with a higher degree of accuracy. Note that in FIG. 6, two attributes, gender and age, are considered, but other attributes, such as hobbies, preferences, nationality, and race, may also be considered.
FIG. 7 shows an example in which time periods are taken into consideration. Route information is registered in the route information storage unit 10 for each time period. For example, the emotion change group "sad → relaxed" is further divided into sub-groups such as morning, daytime, evening, nighttime, late night, etc. In this case, the recommended route selection unit 14 selects the route that corresponds to the current time period from among the multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10 (for example, if the current time is 10:00, the sub-group that satisfies the condition of morning is selected), and selects a recommended route that satisfies conditions 1 to 3 from the selected sub-group. Factors such as scenery, audible sounds, sunlight, and crowds can change depending on the time period. Therefore, by taking the time period into consideration as in FIG. 7, it is possible to induce emotion changes with a higher degree of accuracy.
FIG. 8 shows an example in which the time of year is taken into consideration. Route information is registered in the route information storage unit 10 for each time of year. For example, the emotion change group "sad → relaxed" is further divided into sub-groups such as spring, summer, fall, winter, etc. In this case, the recommended route selection unit 14 selects the route that corresponds to the current time of year from among the multiple routes registered in the route information storage unit 10 (for example, if today's date is April 1, the sub-group that satisfies the condition of spring is selected), and selects a recommended route that satisfies conditions 1 to 3 from the selected sub-group. Factors such as scenery, audible sounds, sunlight, and crowds can change depending on the time of year. Therefore, by taking the time of year into consideration as in FIG. 8, it is possible to induce emotion changes with a higher degree of accuracy.
<Learning route information>
FIG. 9 shows an example of a route information learning process.
<Learning route information>
FIG. 9 shows an example of a route information learning process.
The route information learning unit 16 generates route information based on learning data 90 collected from an unspecified number of people. The learning data 90 includes information on a moving route 91 and information on psychological states 93 recorded at multiple points 92 on the moving route 91. Such learning data 90 can be collected using a terminal 9 having the same functions as the user terminal 2 described above. For example, assuming that a person P is walking around while carrying a terminal 9, the terminal 9 measures its position at regular time intervals (e.g., once per minute) and accumulates position information (latitude and longitude information) of multiple points on the moving route. In addition, when the person P operates the terminal 9, etc., and the face of the person P enters the angle of view of the camera of the terminal 9, the terminal 9 automatically takes a facial image and estimates the psychological state, and records the information on the psychological state linked to the position information. The data automatically recorded in this way is collected by the route information providing system 1 and used to learn route information.
The simplest method, as shown in FIG. 9, is to divide the entire travel route 91 given as learning data 90 into multiple short routes (sections) 94, with boundaries set at points 92 to which psychological state information 93 is linked. This makes it possible to generate information on short routes 94, each with psychological state information 93 linked to its start and end points. Pre-learning using learning data 90 collected from an unspecified number of people is called offline learning.
Furthermore, the route information learning unit 16 may perform online learning using data fed back from the user who used the route information. The route information learning unit 16 compares the conditions (target psychological state) given when the recommended route was selected with the estimation result fed back from the user (the user's actual psychological state after traveling the recommended route), and if the two do not match, updates (modifies) the route information in the route information storage unit 10 based on the information of the estimation result fed back.
In addition, there is a possibility that not enough data will be collected immediately after the service starts. Therefore, the route information learning unit 16 may obtain location information and ratings of stores and spots based on review information on social networking services (SNS), and generate route information from that information. This allows for the accumulation of route information to be achieved quickly.
<Use Case>

<Use Case>
FIG. 10 shows an example of estimating the psychological state of a user visiting a store using a non-contact temperature measuring device installed in the store.
The non-contact temperature measuring device 100 has a camera, an infrared sensor, a touch panel display, a communication function, etc., and automatically measures the surface temperature of the face captured in the camera's field of view. It is installed at the entrance of a store to measure the temperature of customers entering the store. Such a non-contact temperature measuring device 100 is used in place of the user terminal 2.
First, while taking the temperature, the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 photographs the user's face, judges the facial expression from the facial image, and estimates the current psychological state. Next, the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 displays an input screen for the target psychological state on the touch panel display, and allows the user to select the psychological state (emotion) they wish to be in. Note that since the location where the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 is installed is known, measuring the current location can be omitted.
The information on "user's current psychological state," "target psychological state," and "current location" obtained by the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 is sent to the route information providing system 1 and used to select a recommended route. The information on the recommended route may be displayed on the non-contact temperature measuring device 100 or on a smartphone carried by the user.
With this configuration, it is possible to recommend a recommended route from the store to the user based on the user's psychological state. At this time, in addition to the recommended route, the user may be notified of information about recommended stores and recommended spots located at the end point of the route.
The route information providing system 1 may also be applied to, for example, a service for suggesting sightseeing routes for tourists. This makes it possible to plan a route that matches the psychological state and travel concept of the tourist.
The route information providing system 1 may also be applied to a car navigation system. For example, when the driver is irritated, a route that avoids congested routes may be presented, suggesting a route with high psychological safety to the driver. Alternatively, it may be possible to suggest a driving route that will lift the driver's spirits depending on the psychological state of the driver and passengers.
Furthermore, when a user moves through a virtual space such as a game world or metaverse space, it is also preferable to navigate the user or control the virtual experience given to the user according to the user's current location within the virtual space, the user's current psychological state, and the psychological state the user wishes to be in.
