Abstract

An outside lighting system for a car that includes headlights, rear lights and number plate lights, which additionally contains at least two safety lights which are placed at the upper front car body or at the upper part of a windscreen or at the upper part of the windscreen pillars or at the frond elements of the car boot basic structure.

Description

Daytime running lamp ChV
A useful model refers to transport, to the system of cat lighting in particular.
Any car cannot be used at daytime/night as well as in conditions of reduced visibility due to precipitations without the use of lighting units. They help to light up the road, signal about maneuvering and car stop.
A large number of lighting units are used in a modem car. All of them are united in a system of car lighting. This system has several important functions: road and road borders lighting, giving the information about the car (its size, direction of movement, maneuvering) to the other road users. Moreover the system provides the lighting of a passenger compartment, cargo and engine room. That is why it is divided into two kinds: outsight and insight car lighting.
Headlights, rear lights and number plate lights belong to the outsight car lighting. Headlights provide road lighting in front of the car and inform the oncoming vehicles. In most car models headlights have a single body (headlamp unit). Along with this several lighting units are placed in it — low beam headlight and a high beam headlight, parking lights, characteristic turn signals, daytime running lamps.
In some countries the use of daytime running lamps — lamps on the front part of the car - is provided. It is necessary to increase a vehicle visibility at daytime.
The norms about daytime running lamps are different all over the world as well as the form and construction of the lamp; this depends on the car producer.
A known system of a car head lighting [patent of Ukraine N°64999C2, official gazette «Industrial Property» (“Promyslova Vlastnist”) N°12, 2006], equipped with additional pair of lights, axes of which are directed to different sides as to the car axis and are switched on independently which depends on the maneuvering direction.
A known car lighting system [patent of Ukraine N° 1463911, official gazette «Industrial Property» (“Promyslova Vlastnist”) JV»5, 2006] which consists of the lamp at the front part of the car and a main beam headlight additionally set outside that is switched on along with the low beam headlights. Additional lamp is placed at the rear part of the car, opposite the wheel which provides the travel way and road border visibility at a distance of a high beam headlight. But such a system creates the conditions of striking blind oncoming vehicles on turns to the side of the wheel and does not provide road lighting in front of the car on the opposite turns. Additional lamp is switched off when the low beam light is turned on and with the enough lighting of the car movement surrounding that increases operating costs for lighting.
General drawback of the previously mentioned systems is their impossibility to solve the problem of enough visibility of the oncoming vehicles in case of steep hill downwards and upwards at daytime. It should be noted that any horseshoe road, downward or upward makes the car movement unsafe, makes the car operating more difficult especially in conditions of poor visibility. At daytime the oncoming car is not always seen due to the road level difference even when the lights are on.
The aim of the given model is to improve the outsight car lighting which will provide better performance characteristics, increase of movement safety on the road with steep hill downwards and upwards, especially on the upland road at any time at any weather conditions.
The given task is solved by the fact that the system of outsight car lighting which includes headlights, rear lights and number plate lights additionally has at least two safety lights with the possibility to be placed at the upper front car body or at the upper part of a windscreen or at the upper part of the windscreen pillars or at the frond elements of the car boot basic structure. This provides a possibility to see an oncoming vehicle much earlier which is important at dangerous road sections, especially with steep hill downwards and upwards, other physical obstacles at daytime and at night as well as at overtaking when it is necessary to cross the oncoming lane.
The given useful model helps to improve light and operating capacity of the system of the outsight car lighting, to increase the movement safety, especially at dangerous sections in conditions of poor visibility.
At figura 1 the light direction of the main car lighting in case of a seen upward at daytime is demonstrated on a scheme. They are not seen to the oncoming vehicle driver who moves downwards (without daytime running lamp ChV).
At figura 2 the system of outsight car lighting is illustrated, where position 1 is a headlamp unit, position 2 is the place to set daytime running lamps ChV. The given safety lighting must be mainly white. To increase safety they must be always on along with the main daytime running lamps and must be switched off automatically at turning on fog-lights.
The given model of mechanic solution will provide the decrease of accidents on roads, the level of the dead and injured in accidents on the roads all over the world.
