Description

INTERCONNECTING APPARATUS
Technical Field
The invention relates to an interconnecting apparatus that connects to a power and / or signal input or output to provide a change in the number of transmission lines at said power and / or signal input or output.
In particular, the invention relates to an interconnecting apparatus that changes the number of power and / or signal transmission line at an input or output of a electrical element by connecting the input or output of the electrical element and that transfers power and / or signal from the said electrical element to more than one electrical element, for use in electronic devices such as white goods.
Present State of the Art
Power and / or signal transmission between electrical elements is an important issue, especially in electronic devices such as white goods. Electric motor, lamp, sensor etc. can be given as examples of the electrical elements. There are usually three transmission lines in the power and / or signal outputs of the electrical elements and a female connection device (connector) is connected to the ends of the transmission line so that the electrical element is ready to be connected to another electrical element. However, for an efficient and functional use of the power and / or signal transmitted by the same transmission line, it is preferred to transmit the power and / or signal from an electrical element to more than one electrical element. For this purpose, in the state of the art, a male connection device (connector) comprising three transmission terminals is attached to the female connection device located at the power and / or signal output of the electrical element and by connecting two transmission cables to two of the transmission terminals located within said male connection devices. The total number of transmission lines is increased. This method is called as “double crimp” and these two transmission cables provide extra power and / or signal transmission to a different electrical element in the electronic device. For example, patent document W020091 15860A1 describes the installation of an electrical terminal on a cable using the "crimp" technique. The document comprises the steps of placing the stripped cable end in the crimp zone of the electrical terminal and then fixing said cable end with the pressure applied to the crimp zone. However, the process is not suitable for automation since conventional connection techniques must be used for this process. Thus, there is a need for operators for cutting the cables of the correct size, providing terminal connection to the cable ends, and inserting said terminals into the connection apparatus. This process causes disadvantage both in terms of production time and production cost. In case of errors caused by the operator during these operations, it may result with malfunction of the product. It may also cause safety risks during the use of said electrical element.
Another solution preferred in the prior art to solve said automation and safety problems is the use of an insulating displacement connector (IDC) instead of said connection apparatus. IDC connectors are used to automate the connection and cable grouping operations carried out by the operators, thus reducing time and labour costs. In the prior art, US6416349B1 discloses an IDC connector structure. Said embodiment comprises an input base, a plurality of terminals located at said base, and a sheath providing protection for multiple terminals. Each terminal located within the input base comprises the triple connecting arms providing electrical connection and two-pronged transmission forks which provide a different type of connection in connection with them. However, the double crimp technique applied in the conventional connectors cannot be used with IDC connectors and power and / or signal transmission can only be provided from one electrical element to another electrical element. This results in loss of efficiency and functionality of power and / or signal transmitted to the electrical element.
As a result, there is a need for the development of an interconnecting apparatus that provides efficient and functional operation by providing the power and / or signal received from the single electrical element to be transmitted to more than one electrical element, at the same time providing automated production reducing time and labour cost.
Purpose of The Invention
The present invention relates to an interconnecting apparatus meeting the aforementioned requirements, eliminating potential disadvantages and providing some additional advantages.
The main object of the interconnecting apparatus according to the invention is; providing an efficient and functional use of an interconnecting apparatus by providing the power and / or signal received from the single electrical element to be delivered to more than one electrical element.
Another object of the invention is to provide an interconnecting apparatus which enables the production cost to be reduced due to production time and labor.
A further object of the invention is to provide an interconnecting apparatus that reduces operator-induced errors. The interconnecting apparatus according to the invention reduces operator-generated errors to zero due to its automation compatibility. Achieving the above-mentioned objectives, the invention comprises; an interconnecting apparatus that provides power and / or signal transmission, suitable for use with an electrical element that has at least one electrical transmission line at the input or output, comprises; a first connecting element that includes at least one electrical transmission line, suitable to connect to the power and / or signal input or output of the electrical element, a second connecting element which has different number of electrical transmission lines from the first connecting element, provides power or signal to the electrical elements, at least one main transmission line provides power and / or signal transfer between the first connecting element and the second connecting element, at least one additional transmission line, which is connected with main transmission line, suitable for power and / or signal transmission between the first connecting element and second connecting element, changes the number of transmission lines which the first connecting element comprises. The structural and characteristic features and all advantages of the invention will become apparent from the detailed description of the figures given below and with reference to the accompanying drawings, and therefore the evaluation should be performed with respect to these figures and the detailed description.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, preferred embodiments of the interconnecting apparatus of the invention are described only for a better understanding of the subject.
Power and / or signal transmission between electrical elements such as electric motors, lamps, sensors used in electronic devices is an important topic. For this purpose, a male connection device is attached to the female connection device located at the power and / or signal output of the electrical element called “double crimp” which includes three transmission terminals and two transmission cables are connected to each of the transmission terminals in the said male connection device, thereby increasing the total number of transmission lines.
However, the process is not suitable for automation since conventional connection apparatuses must be used for this process. Thus, there is a need for operators for cutting the cables to correct size, for providing terminal connection to the cable ends, and for inserting said terminals into the connection apparatus. This causes disadvantage both in terms of production time and production cost and causes failure of the product or malfunction of the product in case of errors caused by the operator. Another alternative, the IDC connectors, are suitable for automation and automates connection and cable grouping, thus avoiding the cost disadvantage due to time and labour. However, the“double crimp” technique applied in the conventional connectors cannot be applied for IDC connectors and power and / or signal transmission can only be provided from one electrical element to another electrical element. This results in loss of efficiency and functionality in terms of power and / or signal transmitted to the electrical element. In this regard, with the present invention, an interconnecting apparatus for increasing the number of power and / or signal transmission lines received from the electrical element output by connecting to an electrical element outlet, thereby enabling the transmission of the power and / or signal obtained from an electrical element to more than one electrical element, as well as providing an automated production facility, is developed. The example view of the invention is illustrated in Fig 1. the present invention comprising; a first connecting member (1 ) comprising at least one electrical transmission line suitable for connection to the power and / or signal input or output of said electrical element and suitable for use with an electrical element providing power and / or signal transmission and containing at least one electrical transmission line at the power and / or signal input or output, interconnecting apparatus including a second connecting element (2) comprising a different number of electrical transmission lines from said first connecting member (1 ) to assist in the transmission of power and / or signal to the electrical elements, at least one main transmission line (3a) providing power and / or signal transmission between said first connecting element (1 ) and said second connecting element (2), at least one additional transmission line changing the number of transmission lines from said first connecting member (1 ) suitable for providing power and / or signal transmission between said first connecting element (1 ) and said second connecting element (2) associated with said main transmission line (3a)
In an example embodiment of the interconnecting apparatus developed by the present invention, said interconnecting apparatus is positioned on the power and / or signal input or output in an electrical element such as electric motor, lamp, sensor. Thus, said first connecting member (1 ) is connected to at least one transmission line in the electrical element.
Next, said main transmission line (3a) positioned in said body (4) is connected to said first connecting element (1 ) and said second connecting element (2) is connected to said main transmission line (3a) and said additional transmission line (3b). In this way, power and / or signal transmission is provided to each transmission line of said second connecting element (2) comprising more than one electrical transmission line from said first connecting element (1 ) by increasing the total power and / or signal transmission line number. Thus, it is possible to transmit the power and / or signal from output of a single electrirical elemant to more than one electrical element.
In an alternative preferred embodiment of the invention, said interconnecting apparatus comprises a first connecting element (1 ) which is an insulation displacement connector.
In another preferred alternative embodiment of the invention, said interconnecting apparatus comprises a second connecting element (2) which is an insulation displacement connector.
