Definitions
- the present application relates generally to a dental instrument having an indicator.
- suitable means are required to improve patient compliance, and on the other hand, suitable means are required to indicate whether the dental instrument is worn for a sufficient time.
- An aspect of the present application provides a dental instrument having an indicator, wherein the dental instrument is used to be worn in an oral cavity, the indicator is used to indicate whether the wearing time of the dental instrument is sufficient, and the indicator includes : A first pattern layer to form a first pattern; and a second pattern layer to form a second pattern, wherein at least one of the first pattern and the second pattern change color over time in the oral environment, making the dental instrument
- the pattern displayed by the indicator when not worn indicates that the dental instrument is not fully worn, and the pattern displayed by the indicator after the dental instrument is fully worn indicates that the dental instrument is fully worn.
- the dental instrument is a shell-shaped dental instrument that forms a cavity that receives a tooth.
- the cavity has a geometry that repositions the patient's teeth from a first layout to a second layout.
- the geometry of the cavity is determined based on a second layout of the patient's teeth.
- the geometry of the cavity substantially matches the second layout of the patient's teeth.
- the first pattern does not change color
- the second pattern changes color over time in the oral environment.
- the first pattern layer is attached to an outer surface of the dental instrument, and the second pattern layer is attached to the first pattern layer.
- the indicator further includes a via control layer attached to the second pattern layer to control a color changing speed of the second pattern layer.
- the color of the second pattern fades over time in the oral environment until it is transparent.
- At least one of the first pattern and the second pattern is discolored over time with contact with saliva.
- FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a shell-shaped dental instrument in an embodiment of the present application
- FIG. 2 schematically illustrates a structure of an indicator in an embodiment of the present application
- FIG. 3 schematically illustrates a structure of an indicator in another embodiment of the present application
- FIG. 4 schematically illustrates a structure of an indicator in still another embodiment of the present application.
- FIG. 5 schematically illustrates a structure of an indicator in another embodiment of the present application.
- FIG. 1 schematically illustrates a shell-shaped dental instrument 100 in an embodiment of the present application.
- the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 is an integrated shell-like shape and forms a cavity for receiving teeth.
- An indicator 101 is provided on the shell-shaped dental instrument 100.
- FIG. 2 schematically illustrates the structure of the indicator 101 in an embodiment of the present application.
- the indicator 101 may include three layers, a first pattern layer 1011a, a second pattern layer 1013a, and a passage control layer 1015a, which are sequentially superimposed and attached to the outer surface of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100.
- the first pattern layer 1011a forms a first pattern
- the second pattern layer 1013a forms a second pattern
- the path control layer 1015a controls a path between the mutable factor and the first pattern layer 1011a and / or the second pattern layer 1013a to control the first The speed at which one pattern and / or the second pattern changes color.
- the first pattern layer 1011a, the second pattern layer 1013a, and the via control layer 1015a can be formed by spraying, overprinting, screen printing, or pasting.
- At least one of the first pattern and the second pattern can be discolored under the influence of the environment in the oral cavity (for example, temperature, pH, moisture, enzymes, and proteins).
- the color change can be from transparent to dark, or from deep to transparent, or from one color to another.
- the first pattern does not change color
- the second pattern can change color under the influence of the environment in the oral cavity.
- the first pattern and the second pattern can both be discolored under the influence of the environment in the oral cavity.
- the first pattern can be discolored under the influence of the environment in the oral cavity, and the second pattern is not discolored.
- the patterns presented by the first pattern layer 1011a and the second pattern layer 1013a indicate that the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 is not fully worn. After the discoloration occurs sufficiently, the patterns presented by the first pattern layer 1011a and the second pattern layer 1013a indicate that the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 is fully worn.
- the first pattern is completely covered by the second pattern, the first pattern does not change color, and the color of the second pattern changes from deep to transparent under the influence of the oral environment as a specific embodiment.
- the first pattern is a pattern indicating that the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 has been worn for a long time, for example, a smile pattern, corresponding characters, a trademark of a product, and the like.
- the second pattern is a pattern indicating that the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 is not sufficiently worn, for example, a corresponding character, a cross icon, and the like.
- the first pattern and the second pattern may be customized according to patient / customer requirements.
- the second pattern indicating that the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 is not fully worn can be seen.
- the color of the second pattern gradually becomes lighter until it is transparent, and only the first pattern can be seen at this time, which indicates that the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 has been fully worn.
- the second pattern layer 1013a can be made of food coloring, which can be slowly dissolved in saliva and becomes transparent.
- the second pattern layer 1013a may be a combination of an ultra-fine organic pigment and an aqueous polymer emulsion.
- the aqueous polymer emulsion may be an aqueous polyurethane emulsion, an aqueous polyacrylic acid emulsion, or the like.
- the passage control layer 1015a may be a porous polymer film, for example, a porous polymer film made of a polymer such as polyurethane, silica gel, or polyacrylic acid.
- the pathway control layer 1015a may also be a polymer layer that is degraded or dissolved, for example, chitosan, cellulose, gelatin, sodium alginate, sodium hyaluronate, polylactic acid, and the like Degraded or dissolved polymer layer made of chemical derivatives and the like.
- the pattern presented by this indicator changes with time, which can increase the interest of use and help improve the compliance of patients wearing dental instruments.
- FIG. 3 schematically illustrates another structure of the indicator 101.
- the first pattern layer 1011b is located on the inner surface of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100
- the second pattern layer 1013b is located on the outer surface of the shell-shaped dental instrument
- the passage control layer 1015b is attached on the second pattern layer 1013b.
- FIG. 4 schematically illustrates another structure of the indicator 101.
- a first pattern layer 1011c is attached to the outer surface of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100, and a second pattern layer 1013c is attached to the first pattern layer 1011c. Since the material of the second pattern layer 1013c has a proper color change speed under the influence of the environment in the oral cavity, the passage control layer may not be provided.
- FIG. 5 schematically illustrates another structure of the indicator 101.
- the first pattern layer 1011d is attached to the inner surface of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100, and the second pattern layer 1013d is attached to the outer surface of the shell-shaped dental instrument.
- the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 may be a shell-shaped orthodontic appliance.
- the tooth-containing cavity of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 has a geometry that repositions the patient's teeth from a first layout to a second layout.
- the geometry of the tooth-containing cavity of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 may be determined based on the second layout of the patient's teeth.
- the geometry of the tooth-receiving cavity of the shell-shaped dental instrument 100 may substantially coincide with the second layout of the patient's teeth.
- the indicator of this application can be used not only for shell-shaped orthodontic appliances, but also for other dental instruments that need to be worn in the mouth for a certain period of time, such as oral and facial muscle trainers.
- the various diagrams may show exemplary architectures or other configurations of the disclosed methods and systems, which are helpful in understanding the features and functions that may be included in the disclosed methods and systems. What is claimed is not limited to the illustrated example architecture or configuration, and the desired features may be implemented in a variety of alternative architectures and configurations.
- the order of the blocks given herein should not be limited to the various embodiments that are implemented in the same order to perform the described functions, unless explicitly indicated in the context .
