"Liquid" in the context of component (b) includes compounds having a dynamic viscosity in the range of about 1 to 10,000 mPa*s at 23°C and 101.3 kPa. The dynamic viscosity of component (b) may be in the range of about 1 to 7,000 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 1,500 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 1,000 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 800 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 600 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 300 mPa*s, or in the range of about 1 to 150 mPa*s, all at 23°C and 101.3 kPa. The dynamic viscosity may be determined by using the Stabinger measurement method as this is implemented e.g. by the Anton Paar viscosimeter.
I n one embodiment, component (b) itself is not liquid at 23°C and 101,3 kPa. I n such a case, component (b) may be dissolved in component (c) as disclosed below and the mixture of component (b) and (c) is liquid at 23°C and 101,3 kPa. Said liquid mixture may have a dynamic viscosity in the range of about 1 to 10,000 mPa*s at 23°C and 101.3 kPa. The dynamic viscosity of the mixture of component (b) and (c) may be in the range of about 1 to 7,000 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 1,500 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 1,000 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 800 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 600 mPa*s, in the range of about 1 to 300 mPa*s, or in the range of about 1 to 150 mPa*s, all at 23°C and 101.3 kPa.

Component (b) may have boiling points above 180°C, above 200°C, above 220°C, above 240°C, above 260°C, above 280°C, above 290°C, above 300°C, above 310°C, above 320°C, above 330°C, above 340°C, or above 350°C at 101.3 kPa. The boiling point may be measu red at pressu res below 101.3 kPa e.g. to avoid degradation of component (b). As usually the vapor pressure of most liquids has a predictable temperature-dependence, from one boiling point measured at a certain pressure it is possible to calculate the boiling point at 101.3 kPa. E.g. one tool useful for calculation from boiling points measured at lower pressure than 101.3 kPa to boiling points at 101.3 kPa is http://www.calctool.org/CALC/chem/substance/boiling.

I n one embodiment, a solution and/or mixture of 5 g component (b) in 1000 g water has a dynamic surface tension of > 45 mN/m at 20°C and 101.3 kPa. A solution or mixture of 5 g component (b) in 1000 g water may have a dynamic surface tension of > 50 mN/m at 20°C and 101.3 kPa. It is appreciated that due to component (b) being water-immiscible, 5 g component (b) in 1000 g water usually will form a mixture, rather than a solution.
The surface tension may be measured according to the knowledge of a skilled person. The dynamic surface tension may be measured with a bubble pressure tensiometer, wherein the maximum internal pressure of a gas bubble which is formed in a liquid by means of a capillary is measured; the measured value usually corresponds to the surface tension at a certain surface age, the time from the start of the bubble formation to the occurrence of the pressure maximum. I n one embodiment, the surface age during measuring the dynamic su rface tension at 20°C and 101.3 kPa with a bubble pressure tensiometer is 50 ms.

Example 1 - Boiling point and viscosity of alkoxylates
Determination of boiling point: measured at a pressure below 101.3 kPa; the boiling point measured at this pressure below 101.3 kPa were used to calculate the boiling point at 101.3 kPa by using the following tool: http://www.calctool.org/CALC/chem/substance/boiling.

Example 2 - Pesticides and their solubility in alkoxylates
Determination of maximum solubility of pesticides in solvents and alkoxylates of the invention:
15 g solvent or alkoxylate of the invention were provided in a 25 ml beaker. The solvent or alkoxylate of the invention was stirred with a magnetic stirrer. Portions of 0.15 to 0.5 g of a solid pesticide were prepared and added to the solvent or alkoxylate of the invention. The solid pesticide and the solvent or alkoxylate of the invention were stirred to give a
homogenous solution. If the homologous solution was achieved another portion of pesticide was added. The addition of pesticide was continued until the saturation point was achieved,
meaning that the solvent or alkoxylate of the invention was not able to dissolve the whole pesticide added. Usually, crystals of pesticide remained at the saturation point.

Table Ex6
Plants tested: barley (HORVX); cu ltivation of plants: three plants per pot were cultivated in fine Frustorfer soil for three weeks.
The plants were treated with the following SC formulation: fungicidal formu lation - 25% by weight azoxystrobin, 16.7% by weig ht Tamol ® NN 2901, 10% by weight propyleneglycol, 48.3% by weig ht water. The effect of an alkoxylate was tested by adding the respective alkoxylate to the solid-based formulation prior to treatment of the plants. Dosing used was as indicated in Table Ex6a below.
10 hours after treatment with fungicidal formulation, beginning from the stalk, 7 cm leaf segments have been cut; the most recent and the second most recent leaf of a plant were used.
15 pieces of said 7 cm leaf segments were collected and put onto benzimidazole-agar (0.5% agar, 40 ppm benzimidazole added after treatment by autoclave).
The leaf segments on the agar plates were inoculated with fresh conidia of Blumeria graminis f. sp. hordei(type A6).
The agar plates (10x10cm) were then incubated at 18°C du ring nig ht time and 23°C during day time at 60-70% air moisture in an incubator for a certain time.
The determination of the mildew infestation was carried out by determining the surface per leaf within 5 cm leaf length infested with mildew. WAT (weeks after treatment) were chosen according to constant impairment observed.
Table Ex6a: Dosing of agrochemically active compound with and without component (b) in protective leaf-segment test on barley (HORVX) and the infestation of mildew after WAT
Plants tested: barley (HORVX); cu ltivation of plants: three plants per pot were cultivated in fine Frustorfer soil for three weeks.
The plants were inoculated with fresh conidia of Blumeria gram/n/sf. sp. horde/ (type A6).
24-48h after inoculation with mildew, the plants were treated with the following liquid formulation: fungicidal formulation OPUS ® SC 125 (BASF SE; comprising epoxiconazole). The effect of an alkoxylate was tested by adding the respective alkoxylate to the liquid formu lation prior to treatment of the plants. Dosing used was as indicated in Table Ex6b below.
10 hours after treatment with fungicidal formulation, beginning from the stalk, 7 cm leaf segments were cut; the most recent leaf and the second most recent leaf of a plant were used.
15 pieces of said 7 cm leaf segments were collected and put onto benzimidazole-agar (0.5% agar, 40 ppm benzimidazole added after treatment by autoclave. The agar plates (10x10cm) were then incubated at 18°C during night time and at 23°C during day time at 60-70% air moisture in an incubator for a certain time.
The determination of the mildew infestation was carried out by mildew pustules per leaf within 5 cm leaf length. WAT (weeks after treatment) were chosen according to constant impairment observed.

15 pieces of said 7 cm leaf segments were collected and put onto benzimidazole-agar (0.5% agar, 40 ppm benzimidazole added after treatment by autoclave).
The leaf segments on the agar plates were inoculated with Puccinia coronata. For this purpose, 300 mg urediniospores of Puccinia coronata were used in a mixture of about 50% methyl-nonafluoroisobutyl ether (CAS 163702-08-7) and about 50% methyl-nonafluorobutyl ether (CAS 163702-07-0).
