Description
DESCRIÇÃO DESCRIPTION
TECIDO E FITA DE MATERIAL DE CORTIÇA, SEU PROCESSO DE PRODUÇÃO E UTILIZAÇÃO DA FITA PARA TECELAGEM TRADICIONAL DE TAPETES" CORK MATERIAL FABRIC AND TAPE, YOUR PROCESS FOR PRODUCING AND USING RIBBON FOR TRADITIONAL CARPETING "
CAMPO DA INVENÇÃO FIELD OF INVENTION
The present invention relates to cork fabrics and their production process, as well as cork tapes for application in traditional carpet weaving.
ANTECEDENTES DA INVENÇÃO BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Different techniques are known which refer to the use of cork based products in carpets.
Cork is used in this application because it is a natural, lightweight, waterproof, flexible material that transmits softness to the touch and is a good thermal and acoustic insulator. Also due to its intrinsic characteristics, allergies caused by dust and mites can be reduced.
However, the use of cork material in carpet weaving is not known, as these materials do not, by themselves, exhibit the mechanical characteristics necessary for the weaving operation, namely tensile strength, to withstand the stresses. that occur during the traditional automated carpet weaving process. Thus, there is a need for a cork-based fabric which, together with other materials, has improved mechanical strength when used in traditional carpet weaving. Given the specificity of the weaving processes commonly used in the carpet industry, there is particularly a need for the cork fabric to be in the form of a tape.
