- the coffee drill (Hypothenemus Hampei) is the most aggressive pest that coffee plantations have in Colombia, causing great economic damage to coffee growers due to the deterioration of quality. Since coffee beans with small affectation by this pest are difficult to extract from the main mass during the benefit of coffee and during processing before export, this patent proposes an alternative to remove brocaded beans and grains with almonds (endosperm ) defective during the wet process, in order to give the coffee grower the opportunity to obtain better income through better coffee quality and exporters to obtain a better raw material.
