Description
Beschreibung description
The invention relates to a display with a lighted decorative strip. In the prior art displays with the display at least partially surrounding in supervisory be lit ¬ moldings are known. Here, the moldings are usually self-configured from the light conductive material, so that light rays which are the trim left in a large angular range radiated and can thus be reflected from existing in the vicinity of the display reflecting objects if necessary, and so unwanted may arise Be ¬ leuchtungssituationen.
In particular, in displays that are installed in dashboards of motor vehicles, it is possible that the light rays leaving the moldings can get to the windshield of the motor vehicle and so can irritate a driver in particular by the reflections at night. Therefore, when used in motor vehicles, a diaphragm is often provided, which limits the display of at least in the direction of the windshield and the so verhin ¬ changed that light beams can pass from the trim strip to the windshield. These panels require an additional construction effort and may cause a non-desirable unesthetic impression, which is generated by the display with the panel. The object of the invention is therefore to provide a display with a light-colored trim strip, in which it is possible to dispense with an aperture and yet does not cause disturbing light reflections from adjacent reflective objects.
Diese Aufgabe wird dadurch gelöst, dass die Zierleiste selbst aus opakem Material besteht und einen im Querschnitt derThis object is achieved in that the trim itself consists of opaque material and a cross-section of the
Forming strip at least co-forms light-conducting channel, which is open in the direction of an observer of the display and the in the opposite direction to the observer passes into a chamber with a Lichtguelle and so the light of the Lichtguelle is emitted through the channel in the direction of the observer of the display. Through the channel, the light beams of the Lichtguelle can ge ¬ long, other light rays are reflected from the sidewalls of the channel one or more times only in the direction of the observer, so that they will last ¬ finally radiated in the direction of the observer, so ¬ away the Leave channel. Thus, reflections of the light rays at objects in the vicinity of the display are avoided.
The longer the channel is compared to its width, the smaller the maximum angle between the light rays leaving the channel. If the width of the channel is smaller or much smaller than the width of the trim strip, the channel in the non-illuminated state is possibly bad to imperceptible and is perceived only when light rays leave the channel. Since the Zierleis- te of opaque material or be ¬ overcoated with opaque material, they can not emit light itself. This also ensures that the light is emitted only in the direction of an observer of the display. If an aperture is disposed within the channel, the maximum angle between the light rays exiting the channel may be further reduced, if necessary.
Characterized in that the display is intended for a motor vehicle, wherein the motor vehicle has a windshield and the maximum angle that can occur between the austre ¬ border from the channel light rays, is selected so that none of the light rays reach directly to the windshield of the motor vehicle can reliably prevents reflections are caused by light rays, which originate from the illuminated trim strip. So can on an additional aperture between the illuminated trim and be dispensed with the windshield. Thus, the off ¬ choice of designs to be selected the display of light-technical reasons is not restricted. The trim strip itself can have a rectangular or oval contour in cross section. As a result, different design effects can be realized.
When the trim strip has an angular contour in cross-section, this angle may in particular proceed in the range of Win ¬ kels into the chamber and form these with.
When the trim strip in cross section has a U-shaped contour ¬, the "floor" of the U can form the chamber simultaneously. However, it is important to ensure that the legs of the U are rea ¬ accordingly long, so that the channel exiting light rays pass only in the direction of an observer of the display.
If the chamber widens in cross-section with respect to the channel, the channel itself may be made relatively short and still allow the light rays to pass only in the direction of an observer of the display.
Wenn die Lichtguelle einen Lichtleiter aufweist, in den Licht einer lichterzeugenden Vorrichtung einkoppelbar ist und dasIf the Lichtguelle has a light guide can be coupled into the light of a light-generating device and the
Light can be coupled out of the light guide in the direction of the chamber and / or the channel, only a light-generating device is minimally required and furthermore the light can be evenly distributed by a corresponding design of the light guide so that the light rays leaving the channel are uniformly distributed along the light path Trim are distributed.
The light generating device comprises advantageously ei ¬ ne light emitting diode or is advantageously configured as a light emitting diode. This makes it possible to realize a permanent Lichtguelle that consumes little energy and little developed from ¬ heat. But there are also other known or in the future still to be developed Lichtguellen conceivable example ¬ incandescent or fluorescent lamps.
In particular, if the optical waveguide has roughnesses into which the light of the light-generating device can be coupled in, the light of one or more light-emitting diodes can be distributed more uniformly, so that a uniform distribution of the light beams leaving the channel can be achieved. It is also possible, Guellen a plurality of individual light to provide for example, light emitting diodes for illumination without using a light guide, if the channel or chamber is formed according to, or when a non-uniform illumination of the trim strip from designtechni ¬ reasons, is desired.

In Figur 1 erkennt man einen Teil eines Armaturenbretts 100 und ein Ausführungsbeispiel einer erfindungsgemäßen AnzeigeFIG. 1 shows a part of a dashboard 100 and an embodiment of a display according to the invention
101. Von der Anzeige 101 erkennt man einen Anzeigebereich101. From the display 101 can be seen a display area
102, a trim 103 and an opening 104 of an otherwise not shown channels. The display region 102 is completely surrounded by the opening 104 of the channel and the trim strip 103 in the illustrated embodiment. However, it is also possible for the trim strip 103 and the opening 104 of the channel to only partially surround the display area 102. The opening 104 of the channel is shown in Figure 1 is substantially larger than they would provide in reality. The actual width BB of the opening of the channel may be less than 1 mm to a few millimeters. Especially when the width is very small, the opening of the channel 104 in the unlit condition can be bad to not perceived and is only noticeable by the lighting. The display area 102 may include real round instruments 105, between which an electro-optical display 106 is disposed. But it is also possible to dispense entirely with the electro-optical display 106 or 102 fully represent the display area as a single electro-optical display auszugestal ¬ th and on this electro-optical display round dials and other information displays.
The eye E is only symbolically enlarged and in relation to the display 101 and is shown too small a distance from the display 101. The display 101 has the Ad ¬ give reaching 102, the molding 103, the opening 104 of a Ka ¬ Nals 113, a pointer 106 and a dial 107 of the Ad ¬ give realm 102, a circuit board 108, a measuring unit 109, a housing 110 of the display area 102, SideLEDs 111, a light guide 112, a chamber 114, a cover glass 115 of the display area 102 and an outer housing 116 on. The channel 113 is formed by the walls of the trim strip 103 and the housing 110 of the display area 102. It enters the chamber 114, which extends beyond the housing 110 of the display area 102. On the side facing the observer, the channel 113 has the opening 104. The SideLEDs 111 are arranged on the printed circuit board 108 of the type that they light, Wel- Insert it into the light guide 112. FIG. 2 shows two side LEDs 111. But there are also more SideLEDs 111 possible. With a corresponding configuration of the light guide 112 and a corresponding power of the side LED 111, a single side LED 111 may be sufficient. The coupled into the light guide 112 a light is coupled from the light guide into the channel 113 so that out ¬ coupled light rays L either go directly to the opening 104 of the channel 113 or simply or multiple times from the walls of the trim strip 103 and or the walls of the housing 110th re ¬ be inflected and so ultimately reach the opening 104 of the channel 113 and move in the direction of the observer. The light beams L are shown for clarity only for the upper channel 113. In order to make the maximum angle that can arise between the exiting light beams as small as possible, on the one hand, the channel 113 can be made as narrow as possible, or it can at the opening 104 of the channel 113 or in the course of the channel 113 an additional not shown, which only lets rays that are in
In Figure 2, the trim strip 103 is angularly configured and thus also forms a boundary of the chamber 114. The side LEDs 111 are arranged on the circuit board 108 and are thus supplied with power. The measuring mechanism 109 is also arranged on the circuit board and drives the pointer 106 at. In Figure 2, the cover glass 115 is in a plane with the end of the trim ¬ bar 103. It is also possible to let the trim over the plane of the cover glass 115, or the end of the trim strip below the plane of the cover glass 115th to arrange. If the end of the trim strip 103 projects beyond the plane of the cover glass ¬ 115, it is particularly noticeable. The trim strip can be made of opaque material or coated with an opaque material, for example an opaque lacquer or a metal, in particular
Chrom.
Chrome. The trim strip 103 is in the illustrated embodiment ¬ example connected to the outer housing 116 and thus forms a NEN part of the outer housing of the display according to the invention. But it is also possible to provide the trim strip away from the outer ¬ housing the display. In Figure 3, the embodiment of the trim strip 103 in cross-section on a U-shape. Thus, in the lower region of the U, the chamber 114 is formed, in which the light guide 112 is arranged. Leg 1030 of the trim strip 103 form the Ka ¬ channel 113. The legs 1030 must either be relatively long in relation to their mutual distance, or it should still be a diaphragm between the legs 1030 in the channel 113 to the light rays only in the direction Obtain the observer. In FIG. 4, the decorative strip 103 has a rectangular cross-section and is connected to the outer housing 116. The chamber 114 is also partially behind the Anzeigeebe ¬ rich 102 of the display, the channel 113 is formed by the trim strip and the edge of the display area 102.
The embodiment in Figure 5 differs from the imple mentation example in Figure 4 only in that the Zierleis ¬ te has an oval shape in cross section instead of the rectangular shape. The cross section of the trim strip can also be chosen so that it basically has a rectangular shape, wherein its the observer of the display facing end abge ¬ flattened or rounded.
