- the ceiling guided vehicle 20 to which the above-described transfer command reservation is assigned starts the traveling operation so as to perform the transfer process based on the transfer command reservation after completing the transfer process based on the currently executed transfer command.
- the ceiling transport vehicle 20 starts traveling toward the From point, and when reaching the From point, grabs the FOUP 90 specified by the ID of the transport command. Thereafter, the ceiling transport vehicle 20 starts traveling toward the position indicated by the To point, and when it arrives at the position indicated by the To point, the FOUP 90 being grasped is unloaded. Through such a series of operations, the FOUP 90 specified by the ID of the transport command is transported from the From point to the To point.
- the storage device controller 43 When the storage device controller 43 receives a transport command (ID, From point, To point) from the transport controller 41, the storage device controller 43 performs a transport process based on the transport command on the local carriage 32 of the storage device 30 to be controlled. A control signal is transmitted to. Thereby, the local trolley 32 starts the traveling operation so as to perform the transport process based on the transport command, similarly to the ceiling transport vehicle 20 to which the transport command is assigned. Specifically, the local carriage 32 starts traveling toward the From point, and when arriving at the From point, grasps the FOUP 90 specified by the ID of the conveyance command. Thereafter, the local carriage 32 starts traveling toward the position indicated by the To point, and when it arrives at the position indicated by the To point, the FOUP 90 being grasped is unloaded.

- the loading operation is prohibited, and the transfer operation of the FOUP 90 from the device port 101 to the first storage unit 31A by the local carriage 32 is prohibited. That is, the transport controller 41 instructs the transfer of the FOUP 90 in the direction going back from the downstream side to the upstream side (and the transfer operation that causes the need to transfer the FOUP 90 from the downstream side to the upstream side).
- the conveyance command is not output to the ceiling conveyance vehicle controller 42 and the storage device controller 43.
- the FOUP 90 is transferred in one direction from the upstream side to the downstream side.
- the FOUP 90 is supplied to the upstream port (the first storage unit 31A or the apparatus port 101) by one overhead transport vehicle 20 within the range of transfer operations possible in each mode described later, and the downstream side It becomes possible to collect the processed FOUP 90 placed in the port (the device port 101 or the second storage unit 31B). Therefore, the operation efficiency of the ceiling guided vehicle 20 can be improved by the transfer controller 41 limiting the output of the transfer command as described above.
- the first mode is a transfer operation that can be performed by the local carriage 32 (that is, transfer operation from the device port 101 to the storage unit 31, and transfer from the storage unit 31 to the device port 101. Operation), the transfer operation of the FOUP 90 from the apparatus port 101 to the storage unit 31 is prohibited.
- the transfer controller 41 transfers the FOUP 90 from the device port 101 to the second storage unit 31B with respect to the storage device controller 43 that controls the storage device 30 in which the first mode is set as the operation mode. Is not output (that is, a conveyance command in which the From point is the device port 101 and the To point is the second storage unit 31B).
- the transport controller 41 receives, for example, a request for collecting the processed FOUP 90 placed on the apparatus port 101 and a request for supplying the FOUP 90 to the second storage unit 31B from the host controller 40.
- the conveyance command instructing the transfer of the processed FOUP 90 placed on the device port 101 to the second storage unit 31B is not output to the storage device controller 43.
- the local carriage 32 exclusively supplies the FOUP 90 from the first storage unit 31A to the device port 101.
- the supply efficiency of the FOUP 90 to the device port 101 that has become an empty port can be increased as compared with the case where the local cart 32 also performs the transfer operation from the device port 101 to the second storage unit 31B. it can.
- the FOUP 90 can be smoothly supplied to the device port 101 by setting the first mode.
- the operating rate of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 can be improved.
- the case where the collection efficiency of the processed FOUP 90 is good means that, for example, the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 exists in an area where the number of the overhead transportation vehicles 20 is large, and the ceiling transportation vehicle 20 for collecting the FOUP 90 is used. Can be dispatched in a relatively short time.
- the dispatch of the ceiling transport vehicle 20 that collects the FOUP 90 is performed as follows, for example. That is, first, the host controller 40 outputs a collection request instructing the collection of the processed FOUP 90 to the transport controller 41. Subsequently, the conveyance controller 41 outputs a conveyance command generated based on the collection request to the ceiling conveyance vehicle controller 42. Subsequently, the ceiling conveyance vehicle controller 42 assigns the conveyance instruction to one ceiling conveyance vehicle 20.
- the ceiling conveyance vehicle controller 42 completes the conveyance processing based on the conveyance command assigned at the present time and becomes free, for example. It waits until the ceiling conveyance vehicle 20 appears. Alternatively, the ceiling transport vehicle controller 42 reserves the transport command to be allocated as the next transport command for the ceiling transport vehicle 20 that is executing another transport command. In such a case, it may take time until the processed FOUP 90 is collected. On the other hand, for example, when there are a large number of operating ceiling transport vehicles 20, it is easy to find an overhead transport vehicle 20 to which a transport command is not assigned. By assigning a transport command to such a ceiling transport vehicle 20, the processed FOUP 90 The recovery can be expected to be performed in a relatively short time.
- the transfer controller 41 transfers the FOUP 90 from the first storage unit 31A to the apparatus port 101 with respect to the storage apparatus controller 43 that controls the storage apparatus 30 in which the second mode is set as the operation mode. Is not output (that is, a conveyance command in which the From point is the first storage unit 31A and the To point is the apparatus port 101). Further, the FOUP 90 placed on the first storage unit 31 ⁇ / b> A is not transferred by the local carriage 32 due to the restriction on the transfer operation of the local carriage 32.
- the transport controller 41 does not output a transport command that instructs the ceiling transport vehicle 20 to transfer the FOUP 90 to the first storage unit 31A (that is, a transport command whose To point is the first storage unit 31A). That is, for example, even when the transport controller 41 receives a supply request for the FOUP 90 for the first storage unit 31A from the host controller 40, a transport command based on the supply request (a transport command whose To point is the first storage unit 31A). ) Is not output to the ceiling conveyance vehicle controller 42.
- the local carriage 32 exclusively executes evacuation of the FOUP 90 from the apparatus port 101 to the second storage unit 31B (collection of the FOUP 90 from the apparatus port 101).
- the collection efficiency of the processed FOUP 90 from the device port 101 can be increased as compared with the case where the local carriage 32 performs the transfer operation from the first storage unit 31A to the device port 101 together. Therefore, for example, when the collection efficiency of the processed FOUP 90 is poor, the FOUP 90 can be collected smoothly from the apparatus port 101 by setting the second mode. Thereby, it becomes possible to transfer the unprocessed FOUP 90 to the device port 101 which has become an empty port, and the operating rate of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 can be improved.
- the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 exists in an area where the number of the overhead transportation vehicles 20 is small, and the overhead transportation vehicle for collecting the FOUP 90 is used.
- the case where 20 cannot be dispatched in a short time is mentioned.
- the third mode is a mode in which the transfer operation possible by the local carriage 32 is not limited as in the first mode or the second mode. That is, the third mode permits both the transfer operation of the FOUP 90 from the device port 101 to the second storage unit 31B by the local carriage 32 and the transfer operation of the FOUP 90 from the first storage unit 31A to the device port 101.
- the transfer controller 41 instructs the storage device controller 43 that controls the storage device 30 in which the third mode is set as the operation mode to transfer from the first storage unit 31A to the device port 101.
- the conveyance command for instructing the transfer from the apparatus port 101 to the second storage unit 31B can be output.
- the local carriage 32 can execute both the supply of the FOUP 90 from the first storage unit 31A to the device port 101 and the recovery of the FOUP 90 from the device port 101 to the second storage unit 31B. Therefore, it can be said that the third mode is a mode suitable for a situation where it is not necessary to prioritize either the supply of the FOUP 90 or the recovery of the FOUP 90 and to execute both in a balanced manner.
- the transport controller 41 receives an operation requesting switching of the operation mode, and can switch the operation mode according to the operation. For example, as shown in FIG. 3, the operation mode for each storage device 30 is manually switched (for example, the setting change from the first mode to the second mode) via the management terminal T that is communicably connected to the transport controller 41. Etc.) is possible. Specifically, the operator sets the operation mode for each storage device 30 by performing an input operation using an input device such as a keyboard while looking at the operation mode setting screen displayed on the management terminal T. It is possible to change. When such an operator operation is performed, among the operation modes set for each storage device 30 stored in the setting mode storage unit 41a, the operation mode of the storage device 30 to be switched is designated by the operator operation. The mode is changed to any one of the first to third modes described above. As a result, the transport controller 41 outputs a transport command based on the changed operation mode for the storage device 30 whose operation mode has been switched.
- the operator when an operator feels that a certain processed FOUP 90 has been left on the apparatus port 101 for a long time with respect to a certain semiconductor processing apparatus 100, the operator operates the storage apparatus 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100. By setting the mode to the second mode, the recovery efficiency of the FOUP 90 from the device port 101 can be increased.
- the operation mode of the storage apparatus 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is set to the first mode. By setting to, the supply efficiency of the FOUP 90 to the device port 101 can be increased.
- the transport controller 41 may be configured to periodically acquire operating status information related to the operating status of the transport system 1 and to automatically switch the operation mode based on the operating status information and a predetermined switching rule.
- the operation status information for example, the average processing time (cycle time) for one FOUP 90 of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 corresponding to each storage apparatus 30, the number of operating overhead transport vehicles 20 in the peripheral area of each semiconductor processing apparatus 100, For example, an average dispatch time until the ceiling transport vehicle 20 that collects the processed FOUP 90 on the device port 101 in the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is dispatched can be given.
- the method by which the transport controller 41 acquires such operating status information is not particularly limited, but the transport controller 41 may acquire the operating status information through communication with, for example, the host controller 40 or the overhead transport vehicle controller 42. it can.
- specific examples (first example to third example) of the operation status information and the switching rule will be described.
- the transfer controller 41 periodically acquires the processing time for each FOUP 90 of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 for each semiconductor processing apparatus 100, and the average (average processing time) of the processing time is greater than a predetermined threshold value d1. If it is smaller, the operation mode of the storage device 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is switched to the second mode.
- the processing time of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is long, the frequency of occurrence of the processed FOUP 90 on the apparatus port 101 is reduced.
- an empty port is generated, an unprocessed FOUP 90 is immediately added to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100.
- Supplying is particularly important for improving the operating rate of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100. That is, there is a possibility that the operating rate of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 can be improved by giving priority to the supply of the unprocessed FOUP 90 to the apparatus port 101 over the collection of the processed FOUP 90 from the apparatus port 101. Therefore, in such a case, it can be said that it is preferable to set the operation mode to the first mode. Therefore, when the average processing time of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is larger than a predetermined threshold value d2 (d2> d1), the transfer controller 41 sets the operation mode of the storage apparatus 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 to the first mode. Switch to mode.
- the transfer controller 41 corresponds to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 in order to supply and collect the FOUP 90 in a balanced manner.
- the operation mode of the storage device 30 to be switched is switched to the third mode.
- the average processing time of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 corresponds to the operation status information, and the first to third modes are based on the result of the comparison operation between the average processing time and the threshold values d1 and d2.
- the above-mentioned rule for setting any one of the above corresponds to the switching rule.
- the processing time for one arbitrarily selected FOUP 90 may be used instead of the average processing time.
- a representative value other than the average processing time for example, the median processing time may be used.
- the transfer controller 41 periodically obtains the number of operating ceiling transport vehicles 20 in the peripheral area of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 for each semiconductor processing apparatus 100, and the number of operating is greater than a predetermined threshold d3.
- the operation mode of the storage apparatus 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is switched to the first mode.
- the transfer controller 41 stores the storage device 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 when the number of operating ceiling transport vehicles 20 in the peripheral area of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is smaller than a predetermined threshold value d4 (d4 ⁇ d3). Is switched to the second mode.
- the transfer controller 41 should supply and collect the FOUP 90 in a balanced manner.
- the operation mode of the storage device 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 is switched to the third mode.
- the operating number of the overhead carriage 20 in the peripheral area of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 corresponds to the operating status information
- the first is based on the result of the comparison operation between the operating number and the threshold values d3 and d4.
- the above-described rule for setting any one of the first to third modes corresponds to the switching rule.
- the overhead transport vehicle 20 that collects the FOUP 90 it is estimated whether or not the overhead transport vehicle 20 that collects the FOUP 90 can be dispatched in a short time from the number of operating ceiling transport vehicles 20 in the peripheral area of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100, and based on the estimation result. Switch the mode.
- the actual dispatch time of the overhead transport vehicle 20 that collects the processed FOUP 90 placed in the device port 101 or the second storage unit 31B is measured, and the average (average dispatch time) is measured.
- the dispatch time of the ceiling transport vehicle 20 that collects the FOUP 90 is the transfer time after the ceiling transport controller 42 that has received the transport command instructing the recovery of the FOUP 90 assigns the transport command to the ceiling transport vehicle 20.
- the transport controller 41 can calculate the average dispatch time in each semiconductor processing apparatus 100 by acquiring the dispatch time measured by the ceiling transport vehicle controller 42.
- the transport controller 41 calculates the average dispatch time in the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 for each semiconductor processing apparatus 100, and corresponds to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 when the average dispatch time is smaller than a predetermined threshold value d5.
- the operation mode of the storage device 30 is switched to the first mode.
- the transfer controller 41 sets the operation mode of the storage apparatus 30 corresponding to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 to the second mode. Switch to mode. Further, when the average vehicle dispatch time in the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 falls between the threshold value d5 and the threshold value d6, the transfer controller 41 corresponds to the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 in order to supply and collect the FOUP 90 in a well-balanced manner.
- the operation mode of the storage device 30 to be switched is switched to the third mode.
- the average dispatch time in the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 corresponds to the operation status information, and the first to third modes are based on the result of the comparison calculation between the average dispatch time and the threshold values d5 and d6.
- the above-mentioned rule for setting any one of the above corresponds to the switching rule.
- the dispatch time for an arbitrarily selected processed FOUP 90 may be used instead of the average dispatch time.
- representative values other than the average dispatch time for example, the median dispatch time may be used.
- the operation mode of the transfer system 1 is To automatically switch to an appropriate operation mode.
- the operation mode of each storage device 30 can be automatically and appropriately switched by a simple process of comparing the operation status information with a predetermined threshold value.
- the first to third examples are merely examples, and the transport controller 41 may switch the operation mode based on operating status information and switching rules other than those illustrated above.
- the transport controller 41 has the transfer operation that can be performed by the local carriage 32 as the operation mode (that is, the transfer operation from the device port 101 to the storage unit 31 and the storage unit 31.
- the operation mode can be switched between the first mode and the second mode that restrict one of the transfer operations from the device port 101 to the device port 101 and the third mode that does not restrict the transfer operation of the local carriage 32. It has become.
- the supply of the FOUP 90 to the apparatus port 101 can be prioritized by setting the operation mode to the first mode.
- priority can be given to the collection of the FOUP 90 from the apparatus port 101 (saving to the second storage unit 31B).
- the supply and recovery of the FOUP 90 can be executed in a balanced manner. Therefore, according to the transfer system 1, the priority of the supply and recovery of the FOUP 90 can be appropriately switched by switching the operation mode of the transfer controller 41 according to the situation of the transfer system 1, and the operation of the semiconductor processing apparatus 100 The rate can be improved.

And a second storage unit 31B provided on the downstream side.
- the transfer controller 41 prohibits the transfer operation of the FOUP 90 from the ceiling transport vehicle 20 to the second storage unit 31B, and the transfer operation of the FOUP 90 from the apparatus port 101 to the first storage unit 31A by the local carriage 32. Ban.
- the FOUP 90 is supplied to the upstream port (the first storage unit 31A or the apparatus port 101) by the single overhead transport vehicle 20 within the range of transfer operations possible in each mode, and the downstream port ( The processed FOUP 90 placed in the device port 101 or the second storage unit 31B) can be collected. Abstract
