Definitions
- the present invention relates to an improvement technique for a vehicle rear structure.
- left and right damper bases are provided which support the upper portions of the left and right rear suspension dampers.
- the external force in the push-up direction from the road surface that is, the road surface reaction force is transmitted from the left and right dampers to the left and right damper bases.
- development of technology for increasing the rigidity of the rear of the vehicle body is in progress.
- a vehicle body rear structure of such a configuration is known, for example, from Patent Document 1.
- the vehicle rear portion structure known in Patent Document 1 is configured such that left and right damper bases are provided on upper end surfaces of left and right rear wheel houses.
- left and right damper bases are provided on upper end surfaces of left and right rear wheel houses.
- left and right rear pillars extending upward are provided at positions outside the vehicle width direction.
- left and right roof side rails extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction are provided. The left and right roof side rails support the roof.
- the left rear pillar is reinforced by the left gusset and the left stiffener.
- the left gusset is bridged between the left damper base and the left roof side rail, and is provided on the inner surface of the left rear pillar in the vehicle width direction.
- the left stiffener is provided inside the left rear pillar. As a result, the left rear pillar can suppress falling in the vehicle width direction. The same applies to the right rear pillar.
- the left and right rear pillars are provided on the outer side in the vehicle width direction of the left and right damper bases. That is, the left and right rear pillars are offset in the vehicle width direction from the damper mounting center of the left and right damper bases. For this reason, when external force in a push-up direction from the road surface, that is, road surface reaction force is transmitted from the dampers of the left and right suspensions to the left and right damper bases, bending moment in the vehicle width direction may be generated in the left and right rear pillars. This is disadvantageous in suppressing the occurrence of road noise, and there is room for further improvement.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a technology capable of enhancing the overall rigidity in the vertical direction from the upper portions of the left and right damper bases and the left and right rear wheel houses to the left and right rear pillars.
- left and right rear side frames located at the rear of the vehicle body and extending in the vehicle longitudinal direction, left and right rear pillars extending forward and upward from rear lower end portions of the left and right rear side frames, and the left and right rear side frames And a rear wheel house located between the left and right rear pillars and recessed inward in the vehicle width direction, and a vehicle rear portion including left and right damper bases provided on upper portions of the left and right rear wheel houses
- the structure, Lower end portions of the left and right rear wheel houses are joined to the left and right rear side frames, and left and right top plates of the left and right rear wheel houses are positioned directly below the left and right rear pillars.
- the lateral part in the vehicle width direction is joined to the left and right rear pillars, and the left and right space parts provided between the left and right top plates and the left and right rear pillars are in the vehicle width direction
- the left and right gussets are closed by the left and right gussets in a plan view substantially U-shaped cross section open on the outside, and the lower ends of the left and right gussets are joined to the left and right rear wheel houses.
- the left and right damper base along located inside the rear wheel house of the left and right, rear body structure, characterized by being surrounded by the gusset of the right and left through the rear wheel house of the left and right are provided.
- the left and right damper bases provided inside and above the left and right rear wheel houses are surrounded by the left and right gussets via the left and right rear wheel houses.
- the upper portions of the left and right rear wheel houses, the left and right rear pillars, and the left and right gussets are combined in a side view closed cross-sectional shape in the vertical direction of the vehicle body. For this reason, it is possible to increase the overall rigidity in the vertical direction from the upper portions of the left and right damper bases and the left and right rear wheel houses to the left and right rear pillars.
- the external force in the push-up direction from the road surface is transmitted from the dampers of the left and right suspensions to the left and right damper bases.
- the upper portions of the left and right damper bases and the left and right rear wheel houses are sufficiently supported by the left and right rear pillars via the left and right gussets. For this reason, it is possible to effectively reduce the stress on the upper portions of the left and right damper bases and the left and right rear wheel houses generated by the road surface reaction force (damper input load).
- left and right braces are connected by bolts at respective corner portions in the vehicle longitudinal direction between the inner surfaces of the left and right rear pillars in the vehicle width direction and the inner surfaces of the left and right gussets in the vehicle width direction.

That is, the inner surface of the left and right rear pillars in the vehicle width direction, the inner surface of the left and right gussets in the vehicle width direction, and the left and right braces are combined into a truss structure. For this reason, it is possible to convert bending moments generated in the left and right rear pillars into a compressive load and efficiently transmit the compressive load to the left and right gussets.
- the left and right braces have weak portions in portions in the longitudinal direction. For this reason, when a collision force is generated from the rear at the rear end of the vehicle, when a so-called rear collision occurs in the vehicle, the collision energy can be absorbed by plastic deformation of the left and right weak parts.
- a roof arch supporting the roof is bridged between the front upper ends of the left and right rear pillars.

- the left and right rear wheel houses and the left and right damper bases are combined in a box shape. Therefore, the rigidity of the combined portion of the left and right rear wheel houses and the left and right damper bases, that is, the rigidity of the portion supporting the left and right dampers can be further enhanced. Therefore, by reducing the thickness of the left and right rear wheel houses, the rigidity of the portion supporting the left and right dampers can be secured even when the weight reduction of the vehicle body is achieved.
- the left and right damper bases are joined to lower end portions of the left and right gussets via the left and right rear wheel houses. Therefore, the damper input load transmitted from the left and right dampers to the left and right damper bases can be sufficiently supported by the left and right rear pillars and the left and right side frames via the left and right rear wheel houses and the left and right gussets.
- the left and right damper bases include substantially horizontal left and right damper mounting boards for attaching upper end portions of the left and right dampers, and left and right bulkheads provided on the left and right damper mounting boards.

- the left and right front reinforcing members are continuous with the inner front edge of the left and right gusset in the vehicle width direction.
- the left and right rear reinforcing members are continuous with the inner rear edge of the left and right gusset in the vehicle width direction.
