Abstract
Description
特に、プラグとソケットとのいずれか一方が、電子機器の裏面等に取り付けられている場合には、接続個所を視認できず、それらの接続作業を手探りで行わなければならないことが多く、そのような場合には、接続作業が極めて困難になる。
(1)プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込むことにより接続するようにしたコネクタにおいて、前記プラグとソケットとの対向面に、前記プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込んだとき、互いに摺接して、前記プラグとソケットとが相対的に回転させられて、互いに中心軸線回りの回転方向に位置決めされるようにした傾斜カム面とカムフォロワとを対向させて設け、前記プラグとソケットとの対向面のいずれか一方の中心にピン挿入孔を設け、かつ前記対向面の他方の中心に、前記プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込んだとき、前記傾斜カム面とカムフォロワとが当接するより先に前記ピン挿入孔に嵌合するようにしたセンターピンを突設し、さらに、前記プラグとソケットとの対向部に、それらが互いに中心軸線回りの回転方向に位置決めされたとき、互いに接続されるようにした電気的、光学的、または流体的な接続手段を設ける。
プラグをソケットに差し込んだとき、プラグとソケットとの中心軸線回りの回転方向の相対位置が正規の位置から外れていると、傾斜カム面とカムフォロワとが互いに摺動して、プラグとソケットとが、正規の位置まで中心軸線回りに相対回転させられて、正規の位置に位置決めされ、接続手段が間違いなく、正規の関係で接続される。
したがって、プラグを、どのような向きでソケットに差し込んでも、それらが正規の位置に円滑に案内され、接続手段が間違いなく、適正に接続されるので、プラグとソケットとの接続個所が視認できなくても、それらの接続作業を、手探りでも、簡単かつ迅速に行うことができる。
しかも、センターピンがピン挿入孔に挿入されて芯合わせができた後、傾斜カム面とカムフォロワとが当接し、かつ相対的に摺動するので、その摺動が円滑に行われ、従来のもののように、芯のずれに伴う摺動面の片当たりや、スティク現象の発生等により、プラグとソケットとが正規の位置に位置決めされる前に、それらの相対回転が停止し、何度も差し込み直さなければならなかったり、それらの摺接部分の磨耗が激しくなる等の問題を解決することができる。
このコネクタは、プラグ1とソケット2とを互いに軸線方向に差し込むことにより接続するようにしたもので、プラグ1は、円筒形の把持筒3と、その中に回転可能として嵌合した本体4とを有している。
したがって、把持筒3は、テーパ孔3cが外装筒体6のテーパ面6aから離間し、かつ空隙12が閉塞されるまで、本体4に対してその先端方向に相対的に摺動することができ、その状態では、把持筒3と本体4とは、相対回転可能となる。
逆に、把持筒3を、本体4の基端寄りに移動し、テーパ孔3cを外装筒体6のテーパ面6aに密接させると、そのときの相互の摩擦接触により、把持筒3と本体4とは、相対回転可能となる。
外装筒体6の先端部内面には、弾性係合爪13が設けられている。
理解を容易にするため、説明上、差し込み部材7における差し込み部7bの外周に所要厚さの筒部7cが一体的に形成され、この筒部7cの先端面に傾斜カム面17が形成されているものとするが、この傾斜カム面17は、嵌合部16の底面に形成されているのと実質的に同じである。
多芯ケーブル5の端末部には、抜け止め金具23が設けられている。
本体24は、長手方向の中間部外周に拡径鍔部25を有し、それより先端側(図1および図2における右方)に、内部にプラグ1の本体4における差し込み部7bが嵌合しうる差し込み孔26を有し、かつプラグ1の本体4における嵌合部16に嵌合しうる、本体24の中心軸線Lと同芯の円筒部27が設けられ、さらに、拡径鍔部25より基端側(図1および図2における左方)の外周面に、雄ねじ部28と環状の係合溝29とが順次設けられている。
円筒部27の内面には、内径、外径および肉厚を、プラグ1の本体4における筒部7cのそれと同一とした筒部27bが、円筒部27の一部をなすようにして、円筒部27と一体的に設けられており、筒部27bの先端面には、カムフォロワ30が、傾斜カム面17と対向するようにして設けられている。
センターピン31およびコネクタピン32の先端部は、円筒部27内の差し込み孔26内に突出している。特に、センターピン31の先端は、コネクタピン32の先端より本体24の先端側に長く突出している。
また、センターピン31の先端は、プラグ1の差し込み部7bがソケット2の差し込み孔26に嵌合し、かつ円筒部27がプラグ1の嵌合部16に嵌合するようにして、プラグ1をソケット2の軸線方向に差し込んだとき、カムフォロワ30の突片30bの先端が傾斜カム面17に当接するより先に、プラグ1のピン挿入孔18に進入するように、その突出長さを定めてある。
センターピン31およびコネクタピン32の基端部は、本体24の基端より突出している。また、センターピン31およびコネクタピン32の長手方向の中間部には、抜け止め用の拡径鍔部31a、32aが設けられている。
プラグ1の把持筒3を把持して、本体4を、その差し込み部7bがソケット2の差し込み孔26に嵌合し、かつソケット2の円筒部27がプラグ1の嵌合部16に嵌合するようにして、ソケット2の軸線方向に差し込むと、そのときのプラグ1とソケット2との当接時および差し込み時の摩擦抵抗により、把持筒3が本体4より先行してソケット2側に移動し、把持筒3のテーパ孔3aは本体4のテーパ面6aから離間し、かつ本体4の中心軸線Lと直交する凹入段部3aの段差面3bが、補強リング11の拡径フランジ11aに当接する。
この状態では、把持筒3をもって、本体4をソケット2に向かって強く押し進めることができ、また、把持筒3のテーパ孔3aが本体4のテーパ面6aから離間しているので、本体4は把持筒3に対して相対回転し易くなる。
したがって、その後のソケット2へのプラグ1の差し込み時に、ソケット2に対してプラグ1の芯が振れることはなくなり、プラグ1をソケット2に円滑に差し込むことができる。
また、このときの把持筒3に対する本体4の回転は、把持筒3のテーパ孔3cが、外装筒体6のテーパ面6aから離間し、かつ本体4の中心軸線Lと直交する凹入段部3aの段差面3bが、補強リング11の拡径フランジ11aに当接していることにより、円滑に行われる。
その引き始めに、把持筒3のテーパ孔3aが、本体4のテーパ面6aに密接し、把持筒3と本体4とが結合され、次いで、プラグ1の本体4における弾性係合爪13が、弾性変形してソケット2の円筒部27の外周面に設けた環状突条27aを乗り越え、次いで、プラグ1の差し込み部7bがソケット2の本体24の差し込み孔26から離脱するとともに、接続手段であるセンターピン31およびコネクタピン32が、雌型接触子20、21から離脱して、接続手段の接続状態が解除される。
プラグ1をソケット2に差し込んだとき、プラグ1とソケット2との中心軸線L回りの回転方向の相対位置が正規の位置から外れていると、傾斜カム面17とカムフォロワ30とが互いに摺動して、プラグ1とソケット2とが、正規の位置まで中心軸線L回りに相対回転させられて、正規の位置に位置決めされ、接続手段が間違いなく、正規の関係で接続される。
(1) ソケット2に多芯ケーブル5と同様のものを接続して、コネクタをケーブルの中間接続用コネクタとする。
(2) ソケット2も、プラグ1と同様に、把持筒と、その中に回転可能として嵌合した本体とからなるものとする。
(3) カムフォロワ30の基端部に、傾斜カム面17における進入溝17bと同一のものを設け、かつ傾斜カム面17の先端にカムフォロワ30における突片30bと同一のものを設け、カムフォロワ30を、傾斜カム面17と同一形状の傾斜カム面とし、それらをプラグ1とソケット2の対向面に設ける。
このような構成とすると、設計を簡素化することができる。
(4) 把持筒3を省略する。このときは、本体4を直接把持して、ソケット2に差し込む。そのとき、ソケット2に対する本体4の中心軸線L回りの回転方向の位置が正規の位置から離れていると、本体4は、傾斜カム面17とカムフォロワ30との摺動により案内されて、捩られながらソケット2に差し込まれるので、その捩りを許容するように本体4を指等により保持しておけばよい。
(5) センターピン31およびコネクタピン32をプラグ1側に、かつピン挿入孔18、19および受け部材である雌型接触子20、21をソケット2側に設ける。
(6) センターピン31を、筒体の中にオプチカルファィバ、または複数のオプチカルファィバを束ねた光ケーブルを嵌合したものとし、かつセンターピン31が差し込まれる受け部材を光コネクタとし、それらによって光学的な接続手段を形成し、またコネクタピン32とその受け部材である雌型接触子21とは電気的な接続手段のままとして、異種媒体を同時に接続可能なハイブリッドのコネクタとする。
センターピン31を、気体または液体を流通させる配管とし、かつセンターピン31が差し込まれる受け部材を管継手とし、それらによって流体的な接続手段を形成するようにしてもよい。
この場合、電気的な接続手段を、光学的、または流体的な接続手段に置き換えればよい。

Claims (8)
- プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込むことにより接続するようにしたコネクタにおいて、前記プラグとソケットとの対向面に、前記プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込んだとき、互いに摺接して、前記プラグとソケットとが相対的に回転させられて、互いに中心軸線回りの回転方向に位置決めされるようにした傾斜カム面とカムフォロワとを対向させて設け、前記プラグとソケットとの対向面のいずれか一方の中心にピン挿入孔を設け、かつ前記対向面の他方の中心に、前記プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込んだとき、前記傾斜カム面とカムフォロワとが当接するより先に前記ピン挿入孔に嵌合するようにしたセンターピンを突設し、さらに、前記プラグとソケットとの対向部に、それらが互いに中心軸線回りの回転方向に位置決めされたとき、互いに接続されるようにした電気的、光学的、または流体的な接続手段を設けたことを特徴とするコネクタ。
- プラグとソケットとのいずれか一方に、センターピンまたはピン挿入孔と同芯の円筒部を設け、かつ前記プラグとソケットとのいずれか他方に、前記円筒部が回転可能として嵌合しうる円形の嵌合部を設け、前記円筒部の先端面とそれに対向する嵌合部の底面とのいずれか一方に傾斜カム面を、かつ同じく他方にカムフォロワを設けたことを特徴とする請求項1記載のコネクタ。
- カムフォロワに、センターピンまたはピン挿入孔と平行に突出する突片を設け、かつ前記傾斜カム面の基底部に、前記突片が嵌合しうる進入溝を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1または2記載のコネクタ。
- カムフォロワを、傾斜カム面と同一形状としたことを特徴とする請求項1~3のいずれかに記載のコネクタ。
- センターピンと、それが挿入されるピン挿入孔に設けた受け部材とにより、一接続手段を形成したことを特徴とする請求項1~4のいずれかに記載のコネクタ。
- 接続手段が、プラグとソケットとの対向面のいずれか一方に設けられた、軸線方向を向く1または複数のピンと、前記対向面のいずれか他方に設けられ、かつ前記各ピンと一部が接触するようにした1または複数の受け部材とを備えていることを特徴とする請求項1~5のいずれかに記載のコネクタ。
- プラグとソケットとの少なくとも互いに差し込まれる部分のいずれか一方を、防水性の弾性体とし、プラグとソケットとを互いに軸線方向に差し込んだとき、プラグとソケットとの対向面同士が互いに密接するようにしたことを特徴とする請求項1~6のいずれかに記載のコネクタ。
- プラグとソケットとの少なくともいずれか一方を、円筒形の把持筒と、該把持筒に相対回転可能として嵌合した本体とを備えるものとし、前記本体に、傾斜カム面またはカムフォロワ、ピン挿入孔またはセンターピン、および接続手段を設けたことを特徴とする請求項1~7のいずれかに記載のコネクタ。
