Abstract

A flexible liquid pouch having a containing body wherein a liquid product that could be consumed as cold or frozen is contained. It has a sealed side portions and upper portions making a liquid-tight construction. It is provided with plurality of dispensing or opening means disposed on the different positions or locations of the pouch to allow consuming or withdrawing the liquid or frozen liquid product. The dispensing or opening means is defined by tear lines disposed on the upper portion, on the approximate middle portion and on the bottom portion of the pouch. The tear lines on the middle portion and bottom portion is used alternatively to create a wider opening exposing the frozen liquid product ready for consumption.

Description

SPECIFICATION
FLEXIBLE LIQUID POUCH
Title
This utility model relates to containers, and particularly relates to liquid containers that is flexible and provided with plurality of opening means.
Typically, flexible pouches or containers are made from sheets of plastic that is used to contain solid or liquid products. As a result, flexible pouches are relatively lightweight. A number of flexible pouches for use as beverage containers are available on the market. However, when the content of these flexible pouches are frozen, consumption thereof is a problem, since the available opening is too small for the frozen product to came out or be exposed. Thus, in my previous registration number PH 22012000692, I provide another tearing line proximately on the upper- middle portion of the containing means adapted to create a wider opening to expose and consume the frozen liquid product conveniently. However, it was observed, that handling the container body becomes a problem, especially to children who would consume the frozen product. Further, a greater portion of the container body is disposed and the consumer should consume first the upper portion of the liquid product so as to tear on the second tearing line, thus cumbersome to the consumer.
It is therefore an object of the subject application to provide a flexible liquid pouch to contain liquid drinks which could be consumed cold or frozen product which is provided with an opening means in the form of tearing line proximate the base portion so that readily creation of the a wider opening for the exposure of the frozen liquid product could be readily realized.
Another object of the subject application to provide a flexible liquid pouch having another two opening means in the form of a tearing line provided on the upper and proximate upper-middle portion of the containing body so as to dispense the liquid on the upper portion and upon consuming the liquid part, the middle tearing line could be used to consume the frozen liquid product.
Another object of the subject application to provide a flexible liquid pouch wherein the pouch is made of folded identical sheet material that is then sealed on the side portion and upper portion to form the containing body.
Other objects and advantages of the present utility model will become apparent upon reading of the detailed description taken together with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment for a flexible liquid pouch;
Figure 2 is a perspective view of another embodiment for a flexible liquid pouch;
Figure 3 is a flat sheet used for forming the flexible pouch;
Figure 4 is a front view of the formed flexible pouch from the flat sheet;
Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view taken along lines 2-2 of Figure 1 ; and
Figure 6 is an illustrative perspective view showing the manner of using the pouch when opened on the base portion.
Referring to the drawings in detailed, there is shown a flexible liquid pouch indicated generally as 10 adapted to contain a liquid drinks like beverages, juices, energy drinks and the like. Said flexible liquid pouch 10 defined by an identical elongated sheeted material to define the front wall 11 and rear wall 12 which are joined along their sides 13 by heat sealing forming a liquid containing body 14. Said liquid containing body 14 defined a containing space 15 formed after heat sealing. Said liquid containing body 14 is preferably bottle-shaped as shown in the Figures, though other configuration could be made. The liquid containing body 14 having a neck portion 16 on the upper portion, a shoulder portion 17 defined below said neck portion 16, a liquid containing portion 18 defined below said shoulder portion 17 and a base portion J 9 defined below said liquid containing portion 18. When said containing body 14 is already filled with liquid, it will be sealed on the upper portion 101 thereof. To allow withdrawing, opening and dispensing of the contained liquid a plurality of spaced dispensing means are disposed on said liquid containing body. Said plurality of spaced dispensing means comprising a first tearable line 21 provided along on the upper portion of said neck portion 16. This would allow dispensing a liquid or semi-liquid content of the pouch. A second tearable line 22 is provided along the shoulder portion 17 of the containing body 14 that would define a larger opening allowing the exposure of a frozen liquid product. In addition, if the consumer opt to expose the frozen liquid product such that the consumer could held the pouch in upside down position as shown in Figure 6 without tearing along lines 21 and 22 and such that the shoulder and neck portions emulates as the handle of the pouch, a third tearable line 23 is being provided above the base portion 19 of the containing body 14 which is also adapted to define a larger opening allowing the exposure of the frozen liquid product. All of the tear lines are provided with notches "N" that facilitates ease of tearing. Said notches could be positioned on either or both sides of the body.
For more economical manufacturing of the pouch, the elongated sheeted material 100 is made of unitary sheet having the identical sheet portions 101a and 101 b such that the base portion 19 is formed by folding the sheet through the folded line "F". After folding the opposed sides 13 are heat sealed from the edge portion 91 of the base portion 19 up to the edge portion 161 of the of the neck portion 16.
In another embodiment, the base portion 19 of said containing body 14 is folded inwardly to define a gusset "G" adapted to allow the containing body to be in upright position or could stand on its own as shown in Figure 2. As such the third tearable line 23 is disposed above the gusset "G" to allow easy opening and tearing thereof. After filling of the content to the containing body 14, the upper portion 162 of the neck portion 16 is heat sealed making liquid-tight flexible pouch.
The sheet material used in the subject pouch includes food-grade plastic or aluminum having food-grade plastic lining. The pouch could assume any form having aesthetic or appearance enhancement features, like that of the bottle-shape, for marketing purpose. Further, prints could be provided on the outer surface of the pouch. Also, an extension like head portion could be extended from the neck portion for aesthetic or advertising purpose.
