Definitions
- the present invention can be included in the technical field of cleaning machines dedicated to cleaning sports courts. More specifically, the cleaning of artificial grass sports courts is allowed, such as those dedicated to the practice of paddle tennis, tennis, football, baseball, golf, rugby, etc.
- the artificial grass that is used in sports courts has to be filled with a generally granulometry silica sand that is usually between 0.5 and 0.8 microns to prevent the fibers or hair from sticking. This prevents them from curving downwards and ensures that they remain loose, achieving an effect of freshly cut grass, damping the tread and the ball or ball bounce.
- the silica content of said sand must generally be greater than 96%.
- the silica sand cakes leaving the track with a texture similar to that of concrete, so stepping on it shows a hardness that can cause problems for athletes, from foot burns to injuries to knees, ankles and other parts of the body.
- the game is very difficult because the ball or the ball does not bounce properly.
- the present invention proposes an artificial grass sports track cleaning machine that solves the problems described above.
- these types of sports courts usually have silica sand.
- the filler material is rubber, coconut fiber or any other material that may be developed in the future for this purpose. All these materials are granulated when used on artificial grass sports courts.
- the present invention allows the compaction of the filling material regardless of the concrete material of which it is.
- the key to the developed machine is that it comprises a micro-blowing system to break the compacted filling material.
- These systems use compressed air.
- the machine comprises a compressor that provides pressurized air that is directed towards the floor of the artificial turf sports court (which can be paddle tennis, tennis, football, rugby, baseball, golf, etc.) to break the hard layer of the filling material.
- the compressor is connected to at least one dosing nozzle.
- Said nozzle can be, in an exemplary embodiment, a platform with a plurality of micro-nozzles.
- the compressor is connected directly to the dosing nozzle and in another embodiment they are connected through a lance that allows the passage of air through it.
- the nozzle is interchangeable so that the size of the nozzle can be adapted to allow more or less air to pass depending on the needs Concrete cleaning in each case.
- the machine comprises a lance
- the use of lances of different sizes is also contemplated in order to adapt the choice to the different needs that are available depending on the area of the track being cleaned, whether the surface It is more or less hard depending on whether it is more or less used, etc.
- the air dosing nozzle allows to reduce the pressure of the compressed air that reaches it so that the hair or fiber of the artificial grass are not damaged. This is how to get all the old filler material out of the tracks. To complete track maintenance, the old filler material that has been removed is replenished with new filler material.
- the machine can comprise barbed rollers that allow the grass fibers to be separated and lifted before sending the pressurized air to them so that it is more efficient, and then move them again to recover their original position and have enough holes to be able to place the new filling material.
- the tracks remain as new and the life of the artificial grass is extended more than twice as long. It can be extended up to 10 or 12 years.
- the present invention can be used for cleaning tracks that are outdoors and also for indoor tracks since hardening problems of the filling material also occur therein. This process occurs more in the long term than in the exteriors since being covered does not affect the weather but with the passage of time and the footsteps of the players this ground also ends up hardening.
- the cleaning is carried out using the machine described in an embodiment in which it comprises a dust extraction system.
- This suction system comprises a suction nozzle that is located near the dosing nozzles. The suction nozzle prevents dust from rising as this would make the environment very dirty, preventing the game for a while and in addition all the facilities would get dirty.
- Figure 1 Shows a view of the artificial turf sports track cleaning machine adapted for use on indoor courts.

- FIG. 1 to 3 a first embodiment specially designed to be used is shown when the filling material must be decompressed or broken into tracks where it is very hard due to lack of maintenance.
- Figure 4 shows a second embodiment designed to be used as periodic maintenance, which can be weekly, monthly, quarterly ... depending on the use of the sports court.
- the artificial grass sports track cleaning machine for practicing paddle tennis, tennis, soccer, baseball, rugby or golf shown in Figure 1 is specifically designed for cleaning artificial grass courts and having padding material to avoid that the grass fibers or hair stick together.
- the machine (1) comprises a compressor, which is not shown in the figures, and which is intended to generate pressurized air that is used to throw it against the ground and thus break the hard layer of padding material.
- a compressor which is not shown in the figures, and which is intended to generate pressurized air that is used to throw it against the ground and thus break the hard layer of padding material.
- an air compressor of 2600 l / min is used.
- the machine could, for example, comprise a turbine to achieve the same functions or any other similar element.
- the machine comprises a lance (4) of tubular configuration, which can be seen, for example, in Figure 2 and which comprises a hook at its upper end intended to allow the connection with the compressor so that the pressurized air that Comes out of the compressor through the lance (4).
- the lance (4) is 1400mm long and has an outer diameter of 15mm and an inner diameter of 10mm.
- the coupling between the compressor and the lance (4) is preferably carried out by means of a pneumatic hose and a quick coupling pipe.
- the quick coupling pipe has a length of 20m so that the entire track can be cleaned while the compressor is located outside the track.
- the upper end of the lance (4) comprises an ergonomic handle to improve the grip by the user.
- the machine also comprises a dosing nozzle (5) as seen for example in Figure 3 and in Figure 4.
- a dosing nozzle (5) as seen for example in Figure 3 and in Figure 4.
- the lower end of the lance (4) is connected to the dosing nozzle (5).
- Said dosing nozzle (5) has a tubular configuration and comprises holes or slots through which the pressurized air flowing through the lance (4) from the compressor.
- the dosing nozzle (5) can have measures for example of 200mm, 400m, etc. or it can even have a straight exit.
- the pressurized air that exits the nozzle (5) goes directly oriented towards the floor of the track but when leaving through the nozzle (5) after having passed through the lance (4) the hair is not damaged or the fiber of artificial grass and it is possible to remove all the filling material from the track.
- the machine comprises wheels (6) as seen in figures 3 and 5 that allow the machine to move on the artificial turf of the sports court.
- said wheels (6) are made of nylon to be able to slide correctly on the artificial grass. Also in an embodiment, they have a diameter of 30 mm.
- the fact that the machine comprises these wheels (6) improves the comfort of the users of the machine since they only have to move along the track by pushing the lance (4) that moves on the wheels ( 6).
- the artificial turf sports track cleaning machine comprises a protector (7) against splashing of filling material as shown in Figure 2. It is attached to the lance (4) by the lower end thereof, on the nozzle (5).
