Abstract

In order to precipitate and dissolve soot particles (20) from an exhaust gas by means of open, permeable flow channels (2) in a particle precipitator (1), according to the invention for flow channels (2) running adjacent to each other and separately, a high precipitation rate and simultaneously low exhaust gas back pressure are achieved by a particular mixture of macroscopic features (channel curvatures (3), length of open segments (I) therebetween, etc.) and microscopic features (shape and size of the powder grains (5) on the channel wall (4)).
