Abstract
The present invention relates to a heliostat 1 having a mirror unit 60 for reflecting and focussing sun rays S onto a target 3, wherein the mirror unit 60 is mounted such that it can rotate about a first main axis A-A' which is always oriented in the direction of the target 3; and wherein the mirror unit 60 is mounted such that it can rotate about a second main axis B-B' which is arranged perpendicular to the first main axis A-A' and perpendicular to the surface normal N of the mirror unit 60 and rotates together with the mirror unit 60 about the first main axis A-A', wherein the rotary movement of the mirror unit 60 about the second main axis B-B' is effected by means of a first mechanical gear mechanism 120 as a result of the rotary movement of the mirror unit 60 about the first main axis A-A'. The invention also relates to a receiving element 3 which is suitable for the heliostat 1, and to a system for converting solar energy into thermal energy.
