Abstract

The present invention relates to a wire saw, comprising: a core wire; an electrodeposited nickel layer which is electrodeposited on an outer surface of the core wire; a diamond arranged such that a portion thereof is outwardly exposed from the electrodeposited nickel layer; a protective plating layer which covers the electrodeposited nickel layer and the diamond. The present invention also relates to a method for manufacturing a wire saw. The protective plating layer, which covers the electrodeposited nickel layer and the diamond, prevents the diamond from escaping from the electrodeposited nickel layer.
