Abstract

A touch modular switch is controlled by a microcontroller, the microcontroller detects the variance of the capacitance of a capacitor to turn on/off the touch modular switch, and a human body acts as one conductive plate in the capacitor. Furthermore, the touch modular switch is powered by a buck converter and uses single wire communication technology.

TOUCH MODULAR SWITCH
FIELD OF THE INVENΗON
REGULATOR:
Regulator is an_electrical component designed to automatically maintain a constant voltage or current level. Here we are using 5V and 12V regulator using Buck converter
DIMMER:
Dimmers are devices used to vary (INCREMENT/DECREMENT) fen speed or 5 step .setting (light moods) curtain raiser.
MODULAR:
Modular means constructed with standardized units or dimensions allowing flexibility, variety combination caw be created by stacking to connect no. of switches/dimmers/regulators/5 step setting (light moods) curtain raisers.
MICROCONTROLLER:
A microcontroller is a small computer on a single integrated circuit consisting internally of a relatively simple CPU, clock, timers, I/O ports, memory and many other peripherals.
Capsense/Capacitive Sensing Technology;
Microcontroller takes measurement of capacitance, human body acts as a one of the plate of capacitor. Microcontroller determines variance of capacitance to ON/OFF the Modular switch or ΣNCRMENT/DECREMENT the fen speed through Dimmer switch or 5 steps setting (light moods) curtain raiser.
BUCK CONVERTER: In this Universal Power Supply of Switch Mode Power Supply Buck converter we are using Bridge rectifier, regulator and Buck converter. Here buck converter converts dc voltage produced by the Regulator into 5V DC voltage. Having more efficiency around 85%.

Compact size means Volume and Weight is minimal -when compared to other switches.

PORTS AND 1 INTERNAL TIMER HAVING HARD WARE HIGH
VOLTAGE
PROTECTION AND NOISE IMMUNE
There are 3 modes in this single wire communication:
1. Scan
2. Communication
3. Interrupt
SCAN;
In this mode Master sends an 8-bit command, this command scans entire system to know how many slaves are connected to the master.
Here Master keeps the single wire (communication line) connected to the slaves high. Then slaves send their address 0 or 1 to communication line. The communication line connected such way the slaves are connected to the input of AND GATE (according to AND gate truth table) i.e., if any one slave is *0\ the output of communicøtion line '0'. Here O' has high priority and ' 1' has no priority.
Scan Process:
STEPl: Master sends an 8-bit SCAN command.
STEP2: After some period of time slaves send Least Significant Bit of their address to communication line.
STEP3: The slaves those send T or high LSB of their address and read '0' or low stop communicating and will not participate in scan process.
STEP4: The remaining slaves those send '0' participate in scan process again, send 2nd bit of address and step3 repeats here
STEP5: In this way master finds the address of one slave.
STEP6: Once master knows the address of the slave, it comes into communication mode and communicates to the slave.
STEP7: The master sends command SCAN again, those slaves address master records will not participate in scan process.
STEPS: This process repeats until Master Record address of all the slaves.

COMMUNICATION:
Once master find address of the slave the communication will establish and master will communicate with slaves. Here Master will know the slave is Modular switch/Dimmer/Regulator.
Communication Process:
STEPl: Master sends an R- bit command INFO(X) or status(X) followed by address.
STEP2: The slave of that address responds to the Master by giving data.
STEP3: Master records data of the slave.
INTERRUFT:
This is the important mode; if slaves suddenly want to talk to the master,
Interrupt Scan process:
STEPl: After some time master send interrupt command
STEP2: After some micro seconds slaves pull down the line (make low or '0') for limited time duration.
STEP3: Then Master sends a command INT SCAN of 8-bit. This command scans entire system for interrupted slaves.
STEP4: The slaves those interrupt the master only participate in INT SCAN.
STEPS: After some time interrupted slaves send LSB of their address to communication line.
STEP6: The slaves those send T or high LSB of their address and read c0' or low stop communicating and will not participate in scan process. STEP7; The remaining slaves those send '0' participate in scan process again, send 2nd bit of address and step6 repeats here.
STEP8: In this way master find the address of one interrupted slave.
STEP9: Once master knows the address of the slave, it comes into communication mode and communicates to the interrupted slave.
STEPlO: Master sends command INT SCAN again; those slaves address master records will not participate in scan process.
STEPIl: This process repeats until Master Record address of all the interrupted slaves.

Claims

WHAT IS CLAIMED IS:
1. Modular switch/Regulator/Dimmβr/5 step setting (light moods) curtain raiser operating through microcontroller.
2. As claimed in claim 1 , modular switch/Regulator/Dimmer/5 step setting (light moods) curtain raiser using capsence /capachjve sensing technology and touch based Switch.
3. As claimed in claim 1, modular switch/Regulator/Diτnmer/5 step setting (light moods) curtain raiser powered through Universal Power Supply of Switch Mode Power Supply buik in Buck Converter.
4. As claimed in claim 1, modular switch operated through Relay using zero crossing voltage ranges from 80-280V AC (At that point it takes low current at the time of zero crossing of the wave giving more life to relay).
5. As claimed in claim 1 , modular switch/Regυlator/Dimmers are in compact <ύτe or like normal switch size.
6. As claimed in claim 1» modular switch/Regulator/Dimmer/5 step setting (light moods) curtain raiser having communication of single wire and neutral as ground reference.
7. As claimed in claim 1, modular switch/Regulator/Dimmer/5 step setting (light moods) curtain raiser using single wire communication are connected through each other using Crimping pin based type connectors for easy installation.
