Abstract

본 발명은 총 M개의 송신 안테나 중 N개의 송신 안테나를 지원하는 제1 UE(User Equipment)와 상기 M(M>N)개의 송신 안테나를 지원하는 제2 UE를 지원하는 하향링크 MIMO(Multi Input Multi Output) 시스템에 있어서, 파일럿 신호(pilot signal)를 전송하는 방법에 관한 것이다. 상기 방법은 기지국에서, 상기 제2 UE만이 인식할 수 있는 사용자 전용(user specific) 파일럿 심볼을 전송할 수 있는 서브프레임 상의 자원 블록(Resource Block; RB) 영역에 파일럿 심볼을 사상하는 단계; 상기 파일럿 심볼이 사상된 서브프레임을 전송하는 단계를 포함하고, 상기 자원 블록 영역은 제1 영역과 제2 영역을 포함하고, 제1 영역과 제2 영역은 각각 시간 축 상에서 연속된 소정 개수의 OFDM 심볼을 포함하고, 상기 제1 영역에는 상기 제1 UE와 상기 제2 UE 모두 인식할 수 있는 송신 안테나 포트 O부터 N-1에 대한 셀 전용(cell-specific) 파일럿 심볼이 사상되고, 상기 제2 영역에는 상기 제2 UE만 인식할 수 있는 송신 안테나 포트 0부터 M에 대한 사용자 전용 파일럿 심볼이 사상된다.
